Chapter Thirty Three – Date Night The late afternoon sun twinkled through the large expanse of windows that sat along the side of the old school’s classroom, casting prisms of light across the wooden tables and plastic chairs. Kyla sat marking her year elevens assignments on Romeo and Juliet, as she supervised the detention class full of t way wood teenagers. Choosing to ignore the passing of notes between some of the older boys to the girls, Kyla suppressed a small smile, knowing they were probably ‘will you go out with me’ or ‘Meet me behind the bike shed’ messages, or something more intermate as the girls blushed and smiled enjoying the attention. Although covering the detention class gave her time to catch up on her marking, she still wanted to be out of the school and with
