The games room was no more than what most people would refer to as a sitting room; at first glance, anyway. The walls were full of artwork, all seemingly different in style and taste, with no particular theme dominating, but with a symmetry that bespoke of the designer’s natural talent for finding things that “just worked.” The front half of the room was open and all but unfurnished, perhaps for the wanderers that preferred to have conversations while upright. The few pieces that were set out—sidebar tables for displaying small, intricate carvings and statuettes mostly—were very dark and very old.
