Chapter 1 (Amber's Pov) "Amber! Amber!" I quickly jumped out of my bed, wiped my face and rushed down to the kitchen. "Are you still sleeping?" Chelsea asked. "Sorry, I overslept," I replied. She gave me a thunderous slap, "Get the breakfast done and clean up this house before I smash your head on that wall!" She yelled. I quickly started my chores and at the same time, cleaning the house. "Is the food ready! My brother asked. "Almost ready" I stuttered. "Hurry up!" He snapped. I don't know why everyone in this family hates me so much. I have been bullied and mistreated countless times. I am tired of all these. I wish to leave this pack as soon as possible. "Where is she?!" Rowan yelled. I was startled when I heard her voice. That was my aunt. My presence disgusts her so much. "Why is everyone waiting for you to dish out the food?" She asked. I was still about to answer her when she poured very cold water on my face, and I had to gasp for air. I wiped my face with my hand so that I would be able to see clearly. "You have less than a minute to serve the food!" She stumbled out of the kitchen. My body was soaked with water. I don't know my offense to deserve such treatment. Chelsea walked into the kitchen and quickly used her fingers to close her nose, "You stink! And you expect us to eat the food you cooked?" I raised my arm and put my nose closer to my armpit to know if I was truly smelling but I perceived none. It was her own way to humiliate me. The food was ready and I quickly served them because they were waiting already. I wouldn't want to receive another lash. "Hope you dished out everything from the pot?" My aunt asked, and I quickly nodded Mt headed. They never care how I survive in the pack. Nobody asks me if I eat or drink water. They all care about themselves. I felt pain all over my stomach. I held my stomach so tight, bending over the counter in the kitchen. I realized that I hadn't eaten since last night. There was no cooked food remaining. I went to the fridge and took a baked bread with a bottle of water. I was about to rush to my room with it when I overheard them discussing the mating ceremony that will take place at the mating ball the next day. "I can't wait to meet my mate," Chelsea said. "Sure, you will have to find an Alpha to be your mate so that you will be the Luna of their pack" my uncle said. "I wish Alpha Joakim will be my mate, I so much want to be his Luna" Chelsea replied. I felt bad that nobody told me about the mating ceremony. I am already of age and need to find a mate. I will wake up early to do my chores so that I will not be late. "You will surely find your mate, Amber," my wolfie assured me. I smiled and went to my room. I devoured the bread in seconds but I was still not satisfied because I starve a lot. Throughout that day, they assigned a lot of work to me that by night, I was so exhausted. "I just wish to be early tomorrow" I said, knowing fully well that they will give me lots of work tomorrow because they wouldn't want to see me at the mating ball. I was still deep in my thoughts when I dozed off. It was a bright new dawn, I jumped out of bed and started my daily chores and also prepared what everyone would eat. I learnt that the ceremony will be held in the evening. I took out my clean cloth from the rickey weak drawer and moved over to the stream to go and have a nice bath before time. The place was calm and I saw nobody when I arrived. I placed my clean cloth on the rock. I observed the environment before pulling out my clothes. I dived into the water. I felt relieved of stress. I hope my mate will find me too so that I can be able to leave the pack because I am not loved. Since my parents died, my uncle took over the pack and made me a weak omega. I was given a room at the back of the pack. All my beautiful clothes were taken by my cousin's sister. Some of the clothes I wore, she purposely tore them and forced me to wear them like that. Soon, I heard footsteps walking towards me. I saw three girls coming to take their bath. I greeted them but they ignored me. "Are you not done bathing?" One of them asked. "Almost" I replied. "Please be fast" "I don't think I can bathe in this water again because it has been contaminated. I don't want to be a weak omega, so that I can find my mate" Another said, and they all laughed at me. I felt terrible that I got out of the water and wore my clothes. "Hope you aren't coming to the ceremony? Don't waste your strength because no Alpha would want to make an Omega his Luna" I chuckled as I walked away from them. When I got to the pack, everyone was prepared to leave. "Hey! We don't want you to leave this pack, understand?" My uncle cautioned. "Omegas like you are not to be seen around there" Chelsea added. I watched them as they left. It was an opportunity for me to go inside and eat to my satisfaction. They forgot to lock the back door leading to the house. I cooked food and ate. I also took some to my room. I checked out all my clothes and selected the best of them all. I wore my clothes and brushed my hair. "You are almost late" my wolfie said, I quickly dashed out of the house and raced to the mating balls.
