Chapter 7
The storm came in the moment Eugenio and Carlos arrived at the house, and it didn’t let up for the rest of the night. Even at midnight, it was still going strong, with claps of thunder and bright flashes of lightening filling the night sky. It was so fierce that the thunder would shake many of the pictures that hung on the wall.
Though Carlos was at peace when he first arrived back at the house, the storm was keeping him up. He began to get restless and was having trouble sleeping. Because of that, he began to think about all the things he had talked about with Eugenio: his job, his family, how it all made him feel, and it added to his anxiety.
