LEO’S POV.
I will always make this statement of ‘can someone remind me of how Brad and I became best of friends?’ because he is being an asshole right now. I don’t want to laugh or be happy until I find my wife and win her heart all over.
If her dead body wasn’t found it means there is a probability that she might still be alive. I didn’t believe in faith before now, but when it comes to my wife Brie. I believe.
“Are you there all dead? Don’t forget, I need a new perfume.” Brad says bringing my mind back to my driving.
“I am still alive. You know I don’t forget things easily, so I don’t know how many times you will talk about the new perfume. I am in the mall already and remember don’t get all drunk. Laura might just decide to return and trust her she hates drunk people when she actually drinks.” I say and I hear him groan.
“As much as I am angry at her for breaking up things between us, I do not appreciate some one pointing out her bad. Come back as soon as possible, we need to go to the gym. It has been long we went for one. I need to clear my head and maybe just as you have always advised me, I might just go to Seattle next week and win her back. I don’t mind if I have to break a few male bones all I want is Laura in my life again.” He says and I sigh heavily.
All I want is Brie in my life again. I promise heaven that if they can return Brie to me, even if she has lost my baby which I wish she didn’t. I will be the perfect husband. I will show her how much I love her and didn’t know until I lost her for five years.
I just want her to know I love her. I want her to know that she broke the walls I built against love. I want her to know that the purpose to which I married her worked, I am never drinking again. I only took a glass of scotch to encourage a heart broken Brad.
“I am sorry if I reminded you of Brie… sorry, Gabi. Get here soon and don’t forget my perfume and the gym. Don’t get into an accident, concentrate on your driving. I don’t even know why you didn’t let Ray or any of our drivers take you. Don’t get into an accident I can’t afford to lose you, Gabi and my woman Laura.” He says and I give out a small smile and switch the video call to a voice call.
“I will catch up with you when I get back from the mall.” I say and terminate the phone call as I drive into the parking lot of the mall.
Without wasting any time, I get off my black Ferrari and lock the doors with the remote. After putting on a dark shade glasses, I walk into the store to avoid attractions.
I move for the tie section first and pick out some which fit into my class. An attendant walks up to me with a stupid smile plastered on her face and I frown.
“Hi, Mr…?” She trails off, expecting that I will tell her my name.
“Why don’t you ignore the name and just do your job? You can be fired easily if you put up with this irritating act you call seduction. I am a married man.” I say.
I didn’t want to talk much and I also do not want to use my power as the owner of this place to fire her because when Brie was with me, she detested me firing my employees without mercy.
“I am sorry. I didn’t know you are faithful to your wife. She must be lucky to have a man like you in her life.” She says and although what she is saying is something I would have replied to if it is a close friend that is talking, I feel so irritated at her.
“Another attendant or will you just show me the section of cufflinks?” I ask and although I own this mall I do not know where they arrange everything. After all, this is Mexico and I base in Italy.
“That glass section before the perfumes section.” She says pointing to the section where cufflinks are arranged attractively.
“Thanks.” I reply.
That is also something Brie taught me. She changed me a lot and she didn’t even know it. All thanks to her now, I say the word ‘thanks’ even to my employees.
“You look rich and you have courtesy. Unlike the owner of this mall. Although I have never met him, but the popular saying goes round that he is a ruthless billionaire that never appreciates his workers.” She says and I ball my hand into a fist by my side.
If Brie was here, she would have controlled my anger either by her body or the way she will argue with me about not having this annoying piece of human fired.
“Is that what you tell every customer that walks into this store whenever they thank you?” I ask, masking my anger with a straight voice.
“Not every, but who doesn’t know? You know his wife died five years ago and he became an actor, but he hasn’t acted any movie yet. The News papers only had it as there headline three months ago.” She just doesn’t shut up.
How dare she say Brie is dead?!
“Excuse me.” I say and leave her view.
I step away from where she is and where other customers are, then I dial the number of the manager I employed to manage this mall.
“Mr. Pedro, How do you employ people without testing their attitude to customers? Tell the security department to check out the CCTV camera and fire the employee that just finish talking to me, now with a mediate effect.” I bark orders into the phone and end the call without waiting for his reply.
Such a fool, I should fire him too.
I place my phone back into my pocket, but not before staring at my wallpaper which is still my sleeping beautiful wife. That annoying lady has made getting anything now go out of my interest.
I step out to find two security men with the annoying lady and I just walk past her and move for the cufflink section, only to pick out just three identical ones. One for me and the other two for Brad and Damon.
My phone vibrates in my pocket and I pick it out to see Brad’s name flashed boldly across the screen.
“Brad.” I say as I pick the call.
“Guess what?” He says and I roll my eyes.
“I can’t guess right now. I have just been pissed off few minutes ago.” I reply and he groans.
“Who pissed you off?” He asks.
“An annoying female specie.” I say and I hear him laugh, like he is really laughing. Brad hasn’t laughed like this in five years.
“Oh my chest.” He says still laughing.
“Brad, did you speak with Laura?” I ask, because that can only be the reason why he is this happy.
“Firstly before I reply that, don’t forget my perfume.” He says.
“Now I know you want to use this perfume to impress someone.” I say and I hear him laugh.
“Part of it. I just chatted up with Laura on i********: and she replied me. I have always been scared to check her uploads incase if there are any pictures of a new guy in her life, but after she replied me this night. I went through her uploads and all I could find were just sexy pictures of her and an old picture of me and her together. She never deleted them.” He says happily and I smile for him.
At least one of us is happy now.
“That’s great, you should meet up with her soon and don’t remind me of your perfume again, I will actually get it.” I say and he laughs heartily.
Having a woman in your life is a good feeling. Actually the right way should be having a good woman like Brie in your life is the best thing that can happen to a man.
“Thanks bro. I might just leave for Seattle tomorrow f**k all my ‘no going to her’ speeches. I f*****g miss her a lot. I will come back with her and we can look for new investigators to find Gabi.” He says and I sigh.
“I hope they find her this time. I don’t care if all my money is spent on searching for her. Not finding her dead body gives me a lot of hope. As soon as my wife is found, I will make sure to find the wicked soul who tried to kill an innocent Brie who has never hurt a fly. All she did was live her life for others.” I say with clenched fists.
“We will find her.” He assures me and I nod even though he can’t see me as I walk towards the perfume section.
“I want to pick out the perfect perfume for you, so I need to end this call.” I say into the phone and the call.
I have only picked a bottle of perfume when a woman who I think I have seen before has a girl in her hands, but I do not care until the sleeping girl she is carrying stares in her sleep and turn to face me with her eyes opened and sleep cloudy her eyes and the bottle of perfume falls from my hand.
