Chapter 2

Nicklaus’s POV Aiden, my Beta, and I attended the annual Alpha conference. I typically avoid these gatherings, but these obnoxious, worthless alphas are adamant about my attendance. I despise everything about these meetings because all these jerks talk about is forming alliances with me via their utterly pathetic daughters. I don’t even remember the last time I attended one of these meetings, but each time I do, I return home with two or more concubines. They should know better by now that I am never tired of f*****g. After that, perhaps I will stop going solo. These morons never learn; all the she-wolves they gave me will undoubtedly return home; and although my c**k is delectable, I do not tolerate rubbish. Aiden and I arrived at the meeting on schedule and headed to the conference room to take our seats. The meetings began regularly. They immediately started debating rogues and kidnappings. These are not pressing worries; this has always been a pressing problem; why not seek help, but these jerks will continuously strive to draw my attention? Aiden, my beta, immediately started speaking. “With the utmost respect, Alpha Benjamin, I thought you stated pressing matters, but this is not one of them. This has been a problem since the dawn of time. I thought they had seen a vampire in pack territory. This is not an emergency. This is a situation in which a pack dealing with a rogue issue must seek aid from other packs. We have a lot more important things to accomplish than sitting here listening to rogue attacks. We should debate pressing problems, not rogues. My Beta said, “Aiden.” He continued, “What precisely was the purpose of your summons?” Aiden asked. My beta is fantastic. He picked up a lot from me, and I like his candor. He knows what I would have said if I hadn’t opened my lips. Then I overheard Jonathan speaking with annoyance. “Who are you to speak out while the Alphas are speaking? You’re not even an Alpha, “said Jonathan. Aiden and I exchanged glares, knowing full well that this was not on the itinerary and that the shoe fitted nicely, judging from Jonathan’s protective demeanor. I was resenting their whining. “For what purpose have you summoned us? And please, no more rogue excuses, since we both know that is not the purpose of this meeting. “I was inquiring. “So, rather than discussing rogues, let’s discuss your matelessness.” Alpha, as said by Jonathan. I grinned and winked at my Beta as I smirked. Both of us laughed. “How about the fact that I am a lone wolf?” “You need a Luna, someone capable of assisting your pack in becoming stronger,” Jonathan Alpha said. What is this cretin ranting about? My pack is the world’s largest and most powerful pack ever documented in history. I rolled my eyes to incur at Jonathan. “Are you implying that my pack is weak, Jonathan?” “Certainly not, Alpha Nicklaus,” he said. “So, what do you mean when you say “someone who can strengthen my pack when it is already strong? “I questioned again. “I apologize for my statements. I meant that, instead of mistresses, choose a Luna since you have not yet met your destined mate and do not know if she is still alive. Jonathan remarked. I growled loudly enough that the conference hall and surrounding areas shuddered. My eyes adjusted. I was on the verge of smacking the fool. Jonathan was about to wet his pants, and I knew it. He almost certainly regrets his remarks. Aiden knew well that I would discipline Alpha Jonathan for his recent outburst. Then he addressed Alpha Jonathan with a critical inquiry. “Permit me to inquire, Alpha, how old are you?” “Of course, Alpha Jonathan, 46,” “You are 46 years old and have no mate, but you whine about my Alpha being meatless. Do you believe your mate is still living at that age? Why have you waited so long to choose a mate? Why are you indifferent to your pack’s lack of a Luna yet always anxious about ours? Are you monitoring our pack, Alpha? “Aiden inquired. Jonathan’s face flushed. Alpha Benjamin did not elicit a response from him. He stepped in quickly, and this old i***t promptly vomited another piece of crap. “Because my daughter Evelyn remains unmated, I brought her in to be your Luna. Compared to Alpha Jonathan, you are still too immature to be meatless. Benjamin made an offer. I smiled as I locked my gaze on my Beta Aiden. Did this old fool with a shrieking c**k just call me immature? I growled and stood up. “You called me immature, but you are still tossing your reeking daughter to me.” He looked at him and I saw the horror in his eyes. “It was just a slip-out tongue, Alpha Nicklaus.” “The next time your tongue slips, I will cut it and feed it to you. Anyway, we are both aware that your daughter is not pure; in the name of the alliances, she slept with every Alpha she encountered. I will accept your baby, but she will never be Luna in my eyes. She will become one of my mistresses, but she will never become my Luna. Then, he continued, “I will not have an opportunistic Luna.” Not to worry, Alpha; I’ll make your daughter happy in bed. That is an area in which I thrive. Naturally, you know already that I have two mistresses, so adding another will pose no difficulty. I have a great deal of stamina and my c**k is excellent at making women chant my name, but your daughter will make no difference. She will be my concubine, my s*x slave. The entire conference room gasped, but I was unconcerned. I need to be unambiguous in front of everyone so that no one will blame me tomorrow. After I’m through with her, I’ll return her to you so you may pass her on to the next eligible Alpha. I enjoy receiving free meals, and if her pot is nice, I may keep her as a concubine, but NEVER AS THE LUNA OF MY PACK. My words took aback everyone in the conference hall before I stormed out. I’m not sure why the pretense, since I’m sure they’ve all had their fill with her. They’ll be gasping for oxygen as they understand precisely what I’m referring to. They had all seen her in her nude state. Such nonsense cannot be my schizophrenia. He growled angrily. “I hope your filthy daughter packed her belongings because I’m leaving. I have more pressing concerns than this crap. Next time you summon me to a gathering, make sure you stick to the agenda. I don’t have time to hear old people like you whine. Crap!!. “ My Beta and I marched away, and I saw Evelyn chasing us down, her gaze fixed on her suitcase.
