Chapter 8 - Her Indecisiveness

882 Words
I Princess Shelyca is not a woman who will easily give in to something that she is unsure of and does not conform to her standards and principles. “Dareon, I am not sure what to do right now. I cannot just marry someone just because I need to, more so that I can give my whole self to him.” Princess Shelyca stated with dissatisfaction in her voice. In her mind, Princess Shelyca is asking how come her almost perfect life became a mess now. She sighed and stood up trying to inhale some fresh air as she looked outside through the open window in Dareon’s house. Without her knowing it, her mind is so open, it has no barrier that the master dragon could easily penetrate it and see what lies within. He could read her mind like an open book. “Why would you think that your life is a mess right now?” He asked with such penetrating eyes, keenly looking at Princess Shelyca. The latter was stunned. “Why is it that I have a feeling that you can read my mind? Are you a sorcerer or whatever?” Princess Shelyca asked with such astonishment in her tone. He released a quick laugh before replying. “I am me, my Princess; I just asked based on my intelligent guess within my mind that you might be feeling that way. Did I get it right?” “Am I not in a mess right now Chieftain? This is not what I used to. How about my fiancé, my Duke of Sussex?” eyeing him with such air of antagonism, Princess Shelyca wanted to know how he will react to her words. “He is not your Duke!” A fire crept through his eyes; jealousy is evident. “He is!” she retorted trying to ignite his angst. “No! Because I am your Chieftain!” he wailed then swiftly moved to enclose her in his strong arms. Their fiery eyes this time met combating with the same intensity, waiting for either of them to give up. It was Princess Shelyca who has broken such a chained look between them. “Let me go!” she hissed but Dareon’s mind was not in such a proper frame to follow her. When Princess Shelyca looked into those bluish eyes, which are now starting to turn into their deep brown color; she was drawn into the abyss of his soul. She felt no resistance as his lips slowly touched her trembling, soft cherry-like lips. She welcomed his kiss with such ardour that she herself could not comprehend. At that moment, her wolf Sheenei alighted from her slumber and has been brought into that dimension of complete surrender. Their kiss lingered and Dareon took that moment to let her feel that he is her Chieftain. Outside of the window, some Thregonad women together with Threma were all watching in awe their Master Dragon passionately kissing the woman whom they called the angel from the sea. Threma grinds her teeth while her fists closed tightly. “I am your Chieftain my Princess and no one else. You have no Duke from Sussex to be called yours because you are mine,” he whispered after their kiss with such warmness that Princess Shelyca failed to find words to retort at him. II She only has two days left to decide. Dareon gave her that two-day time to contemplate. On the third day, the Pirates will be coming already. It is necessary that she is married to the Chieftain before the Pirates’ visit to the Thregonad Village. “What should we do Sheenei?” she murmured, trying to speak with her wolf. Sheenie’s thoughts lingered in her, telling her that there is nothing to think of because Dareon is actually their mate. “But Sheenei, I don’t want this kind of marriage. It will be a forced marriage, a marriage out of necessity.” Shelyca complained. “Whatever it is, it will still be a marriage between you and your mate, our mate.” Sheenei persisted. Princess Shelyca slept that night with hope in her heart that her family or the Duke of Sussex has been looking for her and they will find her tomorrow. Her hope the night never came true. No one from her family or even the Duke of Sussex came to find and rescue her. Princess Shelyca felt so disappointed. At mid-noon, Shelyca approached Dareon who was then helping three Thregonad men meticulously polishing some swords. “Dareon,” she called at him when she was near already. Dareon turned his head and saw Shelyca approaching. “Yes my Princess?” he replied curving his lips into a smile. Shelyca cleared her throat first before declaring her intentions. “I want a memorable wedding tomorrow.” The three Thregonad men suddenly stopped what they were doing and with mouths opened, shot Shelyca with their eyes formed into like a round big ball. Dareon’s smile grew wider. He swiftly stood up and seized her waist gently by his muscular arms, quickly gave her a short kiss, and murmured. “I will my Princess and that includes our honeymoon thereafter. Everything will be memorable.” With that Princess Shelyca’s eyes grew wide.
