The bridge was quiet as they drew away from the station. Drake could sense the mood of the crew. While they’d achieved something special they knew there was trouble ahead.
“So,” said Sonia. “Rather than seeking out a deadly and powerful hellship we’re just going to take on the fleet of one of the most dangerous pirates I’ve ever heard of. I do like variety!”
That brought several chuckles from the crew and even Drake smiled a little.
“You know I don’t want the crew to get bored,” he said. “I can’t say I’m looking forward to being followed everywhere by the Dragon’s forces again. It’s unlikely we’re going to find anywhere else we can lose them so easily.”
