7 - Arriving at the Great Forest Pack

    Saying goodbye to Dustin was harder the second time around.  A part of me wanted to stay and accept his offer, but that would mean taking him away from his fated mate, and that just didn't sit right with me.

    After a few hours of crying, I finally got my emotions under control and was able to enjoy the scenery, as my dad drove down the highway.  We spent the next three days in the car, but my parents got hotel rooms the first two nights, so we could have a break from the road.

    Early in the evening on the third day, we finally made it to our destination.  I was surprised and excited to see my older sister Alexandria along with her mates, Brady and Liam file out of the car that pulled in ahead of us.  

    Teagan and I were both quick to jump out of the backseat, the second my dad put the Suburban in park.  Whereas, it was almost a full minute before my parents joined us outside of the SUV.

    Right away, we all took the time to stretch our bodies out, as we breathed in the southern air.  It was definitely significantly warmer there, and I wasn't sure my pants and long-sleeved shirts were gonna hack it in such a warm climate.

    Luckily, I was still wearing Dustin's t-shirt, so I wasn't roasting from the heat.  Yeah, I know, it was beyond time to change my shirt, but I wanted to smell his scent as long as possible, and it's not like we were doing anything to get dirty and sweaty.

     After the super hot Alpha with red hair and mint green eyes greeted everybody, my dad curiously asked, "Where's Janice and Alex?  I thought for sure they would be here to greet us."

    "They live at the castle on the Jungle Pack's territory.  Come with me.  There is a lot that needs discussed," Alpha Anthony responded in a serious tone.

    Right away, my dad followed him into the pack house and I assume to the Alpha's office.  Once they were out of sight, Alexandria didn't waste any time giving me and Teagan a hug, as she complimented how pretty we had grown up to be. 

    After that, we spent some time catching up with each other while we waited for our dad to return and let us know what the plan was.  It was great to spend that time with Alexandria, and I was thrilled to see her looking so happy.

    It was adorable how her mates stayed by her sides and kept their eyes open for any sign of danger.  They were obviously worried about Chester trying something there, and I couldn't blame them for being worried about that.  Hell, I think we were all feeling a little stressed out about it.

    When my dad returned with Alpha Anthony ten minutes later, the Alpha took the time to personally shake the hand of everybody who came to help with the battle.  When he reached me, I watched his eyes instantly darken with lust before he grabbed ahold of my hand.

    Instead of shaking my hand like he had done with everybody else, the Alpha brought my hand up to his lips and placed a kiss on the back of it.  After that, he flashed a genuine smile at me and murmured, "Welcome to the Great Forest Pack.  Once you get settled in, I would like to speak with you in my office."

    "Okay," I breathed out feeling like I was in some kind of twilight zone or something.  Here was this gorgeous Alpha, and he was obviously sweet on me.

    After he let go of my hand, Alpha Anthony stated, "Let's get you all to your rooms," then he led us into and through the large pack house.

    My parents were the first to see their room on the third floor, then it was Alexandria's turn, and finally, we were being led into a room that was across the hall from Alexandria.  Right away, Teagan sprinted to the bathroom leaving me alone with the Alpha.

    He immediately walked toward me, and my response was to walk backward until my back bumped against the wall.  With nowhere to go, I stood there with wide eyes.  I wasn't sure what he was getting ready to do, and I didn't have a choice but to wait and find out.

    When he reached me, Alpha Anthony placed the palm of his right hand on the wall, then he used the fingers of his left hand to tuck my hair behind my ears.  Next, he rubbed the pad of his thumb over my lips and mumbled, "You are the first woman to catch my eye since I lost my mate a few years ago.  I hope to see you in my office later."

    "Why do you want me to go to your office?" I warily asked.

    "That's for me to know and you to find out later," he teasingly responded, then he flashed me a sexy smirk and winked before he left the room.

    As soon as he was out of sight, I looked around the large room.  There were two wooden dressers, a queen sized bed, a small desk, and a small vanity.  The walls were painted a rose pink, and the carpet was a darker pink.  The curtains hanging over the windows matched the carpet and the bedspread.

    It was a little too girly for my taste, but I knew Teagan would love it.  She had always been a fan of the color pink.

    The second Teagan emerged from the bathroom, I ran past her so I could empty my overfull bladder.  After that, we walked out to the Suburban and grabbed our suitcases with clothes along with our hair and make-up bag.

    Once we were back in our room, I was beyond ready to take a shower and change my shirt.  The hot water helped ease my muscles that felt cramped from enduring such a long ride, and I was grateful for the relief.

    After I got out of the shower, Teagan was next to hop in.  Meanwhile, I pulled on a pair of lacy, black thongs along with my black skirt.  I completed the outfit with a tight, long-sleeved black shirt that hung off my shoulders leaving them bare, then I pulled on my black boots.

    I didn't bother with any make-up, but I did take the brush to my hair.  When I was done getting ready, I glanced over at Teagan, who had just returned from her shower, and coyly asked, "How do I look?"

    "You look sizzling hot.  Why are you all dressed up anyway?" she curiously asked.

    "Alpha Anthony asked to see me in his office," I answered with a shrug of my shoulders.

    "Oh, I see," she cheekily replied, as she wiggled her eyebrows at me.

    "Alright, well I guess I better get to it," I enthusiastically remarked on my way to the door.

    As I turned the doorknob, Teagan teasingly mumbled, "Don't have too much fun."

    I glanced back and winked at my twin, then I left the room and went in search of Alpha Anthony's office.  Luckily, his office was on the first floor of the pack house.  Since I headed straight downstairs, it didn't take me long to find it.
