Thanks so much for following my series! I must warn you; this will be the most complex book in the Silver Moon Series with a lot of characters to keep track of! There is going to be a lot going on, so make sure you pay close attention to the names in bold lettering. I look forward to reading all of your comments, and I hope you enjoy this longer book in the series!
Savannah
“Savannah, I know you are facing one of the biggest decisions of your life, and you are torn about what you should do. As crazy as it may sound, I urge you to take this special guy with you. Apart, you will both be weaker. Together, you will be a force to be reckoned with,” the Moon Goddess advised, forcing me to pull my eyes away from my newborn pup.
“Wouldn’t it be irresponsible for us to take him into battle with us?” I countered with apprehension.
“Not at all. He might be an infant, but he yields more power than any other werewolf on this earth. You also yield power that you have yet to tap into. Don’t be afraid to trust your instincts, Savannah,” she answered with hope-filled eyes.
“I just want to go home and be a good mom to my baby,” I whined, gazing back down at the cherub in my arms.
“I know having a pup, changes everything, but this is something you have to do for the sake of the werewolf species as a whole. There are things happening overseas that need to be addressed, but nobody else is strong enough to stand up to King Derek,” she started to explain.
After taking a deep breath, the Moon Goddess continued, “You see, the Langley family has been keeping a warlock trapped in the castle’s dungeon for years. When one warlock dies, they simply replace him with another one. They keep a warlock around to use his magic to make themselves stronger. Their most recent warlock just died, so they are looking to replace him with a more powerful one.”
“How can we contend with that?” I anxiously mumbled.
“Mira Shultz Grant will be the key to taming the warlock and earning his trust,” she stated with confidence.
“Mira?” Andrea, Bethany and Jameson all questioned at once.
“Yes, Mira. She will be one of your biggest assets on this upcoming journey. I must be going now. Trust me, Savannah. You will need your pup, your mate, and Mira to accomplish your mission,” the Moon Goddess adamantly urged before vanishing from our sight.
I looked at Jameson with pleading eyes and asked, “Will you contact Mira and ask her to meet us here?”
“No need. She’s already on her way,” Andrea informed us with a smirk.
“Do you think she will agree to join us?” I asked Andrea.
“I’m sure she will! Mira has been talking about leaving to search for her mate. This will be the perfect opportunity for her to do just that,” Andrea answered, looking more confident than I felt at that moment.
Winona
As I sat on the forest ground with my clothes torn and my thighs aching, I cried into my palms and thought about ending my miserable life, then I brushed that thought away, knowing I could never do that to my family. I was just so sick of Prince Jeffrey forcing himself on me, but there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.
If I tried to run off, he would just send his minions to hunt me down, then he would punish everybody in my family. I couldn’t bear the thought of harm coming to my family, because I couldn’t handle the rough treatment I was shown by the prince.
Snap. Crunch. That’s all it took for my head to snap up and my eyes to dart around, fearing Jeffrey had come back for more.
Suddenly, Grace appeared from behind a tree. She was clearly looking for something or somebody, and that somebody turned out to be me.
As soon as her eyes landed on me sitting on the ground, she rushed over and dropped to her knees in front of me. After wrapping her arms around my body, she solemnly asked, “Did he get to you again?”
“Yeah, he’s such an asshole. I wish somebody would just rip his stupid throat out already,” I grumbled with contempt.
“I’ll do it! I don’t give a f**k if they kill me for it. At least it would spare you and the other she-wolves the horror of that bullshit happening anymore!” Grace venomously snarled with rage swirling in her emerald eyes.
“I could never let you do that! I would miss you way too much!” I insisted to my redheaded best friend with the fiery temperament to match her hair.
“I swear, Winona, if I ever get the chance to end Prince Jeffrey or King Derek, I won’t hesitate,” Grace vowed.
Grace and her brother, Nathan, had been holding a grudge against the Langley family ever since the Langley’s killed their father and ran their mother out of the country. Grace and Nathan became servants at the castle, and she had seen her fair share of abuse at their hands.
The one thing she didn’t have to endure was the s****l abuse. One time, Prince Jeffrey tried to have his way with her, and Grace screamed bloody murder.
Nathan heard Grace scream from two floors below and ran to her aid. It was a miracle, King Derek didn’t have Nathan executed for attacking the prince, but we were thankful he didn’t.
We sat on the forest ground, hugging for a few more minutes, then Grace helped me get to my feet. My legs still felt sore and wobbly from the rough violation of my body, but I managed to stay upright and walked home with the help of Grace’s shoulder.
Luckily, I had my own little cabin, so my parents no longer had to see me in that condition. They tried to speak out against the prince when he first started violating me at the age of fifteen, but nothing good came from it.
Instead, they were tied to columns in the square and beat with a whip in front of everybody. After that, I begged them to stay out of it and tried to avoid them seeing me whenever it happened.
It was hard to pretend things were fine in front of them, but I did the best I could. They must have seen in my eyes that I was slowly dying inside, because they always looked at me with sorrow and pity, knowing I was still being put to the test by the abuse inflicted on me at Prince Jeffrey's hand.
Grace stayed with me at my cabin on most nights, because she hated the castle with a passion, and I was happy to have her company. Especially on nights like this when I was hurting both physically and emotionally.
We would talk for hours about finding our mates, but I had honestly lost hope when it came to ending up with my fated mate. Even if I did find him, he wouldn’t want the nasty prince’s leftovers.
Serena
“Serena, get in here! We need to talk to you,” I heard my father shout from his office as I tried to sneak by.
Doing my best to hide my disappointment, I stepped into the office and asked, “What did you need, father?”
“I have begun negotiations for you to marry Prince Jeffrey. As of right now, the wedding will take place in three months from now,” my father had the nerve to say.
Enraged to hear that, I glared daggers at him and seethed through clenched teeth, “I will never marry that scumbag! Have you lost your mind? Oh, wait… I forgot… that happened years ago!”
“Silence! You will do as you're told or you will be disowned by me and your mother!” my father hatefully spat, while my mother stood behind him with a worried expression on her face.
“I hate you! I always have and I always will! If you try to make me marry that piece of s**t, I will be the one disowning both of you,” I retorted with my eyes glowing red.
Suddenly, I was knocked to the floor by my father’s hand, then he grabbed my hair and yanked my head back before hissing, “Don’t ever defy me again, Serena! So, help me, if you don’t do this, I will personally end you.”
“I’d rather perish from this world than be tied down to Prince Jeffrey!” I yelled with disdain.
My father slapped me with more force than ever, making the hair wrapped around his fingers rip out of my head before it bounced off the floor. Lucky for me, I couldn’t feel physical pain like that. It was part of my special vampire power.
However, I could feel the emotional pain, and it sucked! Wanting to lash out, I jumped to my feet and ran to my retreating father, then I jumped through the air and kicked him on the side of his head, throwing the bastard off guard.
Before he had a chance to respond, I sprinted to my bedroom and grabbed a bag I kept packed in my closet. It wasn’t the first time my parents tried to force me to marry somebody. I killed the other scumbags, but I was sick of this bullshit. This time, I would end this stupid cycle for good!
