Even in my sleep, I was aware of the pain that my fated mate was causing me to experience, but I refused to let it fully awaken me. That was until I heard an unfamiliar noise followed by a thud from nearby, putting me, my cat and my wolf on high alert.
I sat straight up in bed with one hand clutching my chest against the pain, and the other hand rubbing the sleep from my eyes. A quick glance around the room revealed my sister was nowhere to be seen, but there was light shining from under the bathroom door.
