Chapter 5 “Mr. Morris, if you would please pay attention,” Devin’s boss said somewhat acerbically. “Sorry, sir.” Devin drew his attention back to the meeting. The last thing he needed was to lose his job at this point. That would really put a topper on things. He had been thinking, before his boss made his comment, about what to do after work since it was Friday night. He was damned if he was going to stay home and curl up with a book and a beer. That smacked of feeling sorry for himself. On the other hand he wasn’t all that certain he wanted to hit the clubs. Gary could be at any one of them and after last weekend he wasn’t willing to face him again. The meeting seemed to drone on forever but eventually his boss called it finished.
