“You look like death and a half,” Gary said as he opened the apartment door.
“What the hell are you doing here,” Vanni growled while he tried to peer past Gary to see where Devin was. It had been four days since the ‘Heartless Killer’ had been caught. Vanni had spent them in his apartment when he wasn’t at work. Finally boredom and, he had to admit, loneliness had driven him out in search of someone to keep him company. He decided Devin would be the lucky recipient. Or he had until Gary opened the door.
“I live here now,” Gary said tersely.
“You’re shitting me.”
“No he’s not,” Devin said as he came to stand beside Gary and put one arm around his waist. “And he’s right, you look like death.”
