The scream woke Candice up first. She flung herself out of bed and raced to the loungeroom, Logan right behind her. She skidded to a stop as she saw Damon cowering behind the lounge, Laurie throwing things at him.
"Laurie, stop" Candice shouted "he's a friend, a friend."
Laurie raised her frightened eyes "friend" she said quietly as Candice nodded and held her arms out, Laurie throwing herself into them. She had forgotten about Laurie's fear of strangers and she cursed herself for not waking up early to tell her about Damon.
Damon peeked over the couch. "Is it safe to come out now" he said as Logan staggered back into the bedroom.
