Chapter 4 - Sleepyhead

Chapter 4

"Get your I.D along with your schedule at the library, Little Amy" Vince said and like Tita, he still calls me little.

"Not at the registrar?"

"Nope. The Registrar is busy right now. May gagawin lang kami saglit puntahan ka nalang namin sa Lib mamaya."

Tumango ako at tumalikod na at naglakad na palayo nang bigla kong na-realize na hindi ko pala alam ang daan papuntang library. I turned back to them and Vince is stifling a laugh coz obviously alam niyang maling daan yung nilakaran ko.

"That is not the way Little Amy, the Lib is there" he pointed at the opposite direction at saka dumiretso roon. The building is 4-story, nandito sa first floor and mga computers and other learning gadgets, nagtanong ako kung saan makukuha ang mga I.D at sinabi ng tagabantay doon na sa second and third floor daw ang library at sa second floor kukunin ang I.D at sched, the lady also informed me that the fourth floor is the AVR (Audio Visual Room).

Tables, chairs, and bookshelves are all placed neatly around the room, shelves were marked every section according to the books they carry and which department/course they are used. I went to the librarians to get my I.D and sched, they informed me that uniforms will be released next month at kukunin nila ang measurements namin ngayon kaya sinundan ko siya sa isang maliit na office dito sa Lib at dito ako kinunan ng measurement ng isang mananahi. After it, I explored the books sa nursing section. Magbabasa nalang muna ako siguro habang hinihintay yung dalawa. I looked at my subjects and decided to read a book from it.

"Theoretical and Fundamentals of Nursing" I immediately found the book and took it out from the shelf, I looked for a good spot to read and found one at the nearest corner of the room. I scanned the contents and figured out that this tackles the Nursing theorists and history and development of the nursing profession. I am almost done with the background of Florence Nightingale when I yawned and felt the urge to sleep. I looked at my watch and it is already 2:30 and the guys are not here yet. I decided to take a nap for a while since maaga kami kanina kasi 7 hours ang byahe mula sa bahay. But before I shove my head on the table I made sure first that the librarians could not see me kasi baka mapagalitan akong natutulog sa Lib. I removed my glasses and buried my face on the opened book.

Do you know that there is a huge possibility for a person to wake up just by staring at them? It is like the uncomfortable or maybe weird feeling when people stare at you. And that is just what I felt as I open my eyes and found myself sitting on a passenger seat of a car. I looked around and found Archer at the driver's seat looking at me. It is already dark outside so I checked my watch and it is already 6:30pm. I slept that long?

"we are here" saad ni Archer.

"How... did I end up here?" tanong ko habang nagpaling linga sa loob ng kanyang sasakyan. 

"Sleepwalk.." he replied plainly. He always has that blank look on his face as if wala itong kaemo emosyon. Ipinaglihi ba siya sa sama ng loob? Di man lang magawang ngumiti, sayang yung itsura. 

"I did?" Hindi naman ako nagisleep walking a, never in my life have I experienced that, and creepy naman pag ganon, baka kung saan-saan ka mapadpad ng di mo namamalayan. Thoughmay mga ganong tao na kondisyon talaga, I just do not know yet how it works, maybe it is their muscle memory that just works instead. err. I do not know.

"I carried you, sleepyhead." He carried me? Nakakahiya pero di bale, tulog naman ako. 

"Why did you not wake me up?" tanong ko dahil mas madali naman iyon diba? yung gisingin lamang niya ako kaysa naman sa buhatin pa mula library hanggang parking lot, e ang layo nun.

"Do you think I wanted to carry you?" sarkastiko nitong sagot.

I did not answer him anymore 'cause I know myself na tulog-mantika talaga ako lalo na kapag pagod sa byahe mahirap akong gisingin.

"You know my condo?" tanong ko ulit dahil hindi niya naman ako tinanong dati kung saan ako nagi-stay.

"You are asking a lot of question missy. Tita Martha told Vincent." He coldly stated.

"Where is Vince by the way?"

"Enough with the questions, get out of my car now."

Oh... Ookay...? Wow. What the h-ll?

"You are rude." I plainly said while unbuckling the seatbelt. Putek, get out daw? parang nagpapalayas lang ang kuya niyo ang sama ng ugali, parang may kasalanan ba naaman ako sakanya, sayang talaga yung itsura.

I took my stuff and moved out from his car

"Thanks" I uttered before shutting the door and walked away while taking my eyeglasses from my bag and put it on.

Mom opened the door for me and asked "Where are they? You did not ask them to at least come up here?" ba't ko siya aayain e ang rude niya diba

"They had to go home, Mom"

"Everything was fixed here already. Nag early dinner na kami ng Dad mo kanina hindi ka na namin nahintay, pero nag-iwan kami diyan ng dinner mo. Also, we booked a room at a nearby hotel already para doon muna kami ng dad mo matulog bago kami lumuwas pabalik bukas ng umaga. Pero dadaanan ka namin muna dito to check you tomorrow, alright?"

"Alright Mom."

"We will go now anak, good night" ani nila bago tuluyang lumabas.

I went inside my room and looked at myself in the mirror. My hair is like a bird's nest dahil sa pagtulog ko kanina, but I who cares right? I took a shower and put on a pajama and a sleeveless top. I turned off the aircon because the room is already cold at madali kasi akong lamigin. Bigla akong nakaramdam ng gutom nang makita ang tirang adobong manok at kanin sa lamesa kaya agad kong nilantakan iyon.

I immediately went to bed after washing the dishes and brushing my teeth. As soon as I felt the comfort of the mattress on my back I drifted to sleep.
