Chapter 9- Rachel

1603 Words
The next few days at my home were the best. I loved how I was being treated by Alpha Robert, which was strange compared to who he was a few days ago. It was quite surprising for a man that had that sort of tantrum to turn out to be all forgiving and loving in the next second. I was surprised but I knew I had to enjoy it while it lasted. “Are you done dressing up my queen?” He asked, planting a subtle kiss on my cheek and hugging me from behind. My body radiated with heat as thoughts of last night came rushing into my mind. I loved having s*x with him, but I knew deep in my heart he wasn’t the one I wanted to be with. He was not my mate, he was my sister’s. It felt wrong letting him f**k me with every chance he got after I came back, even though I knew it had a lot to do with Paula. “Yes.” I nodded, a fake smile appearing on my lips as I tied my hair into my usual hairstyle. I decided to change my choice of clothing today because Alpha Robert’s mother would be here to take me to her house for the weekend. She has always hated me, and I was pretty much sure she would hate me even more if she found out that Paula was back and that I convinced Alpha Robert to let her stay. She didn’t like the sight of the both of us because she couldn’t come to peace with the fact that her only son chose to be with an Omega rather than some princess. “You’re going to face her this time, and her words won’t get to you am I clear?” I swallowed the huge lump that settled in my throat and rubbed my sweaty hands together. “Why did you agree to this Robbie?” I turned to face him and rested my lower back on the dressing mirror. He smiled before snaking both of his hands around my waist, then grabbed one of my ass cheeks and pulled me forward. “I want you to have a better relationship with my mother, Rachel. You’re my wife, and I want that to remain forever. You’re going to bear my kids one day so any bad blood between you and her will cause a lot of problems for them, and even us.” He explained as he placed a sloppy lingering kiss on my forehead. “I understand.” I nodded, tilting my head to my black traveling carry-on that sat in front of Alpha Robert’s tall drinking table. “You wanna have one last f**k before you leave?” He asked seductively as he ran a finger down the lace of my panties under my sundress. “No,” I blushed. “I’m still sore from last night.” I brought my hands up to his neck and pulled him into a kiss, even with the guilt that was still gnawing in my guts. “Fine, you are free to go.” He laughed triumphantly before he let me go. “Bye Robbie, I’ll see you next week.” I blew him a kiss which he quickly caught and placed on the surface of his chest. ~ I reached the former Luna’s house just a few hours after I left my home. It was hard to leave him, considering what took place between us before I left but I had to. Getting a good relationship with my mother-in-law was all that mattered now. Her house was a huge one. It was said that she inherited it from her forefathers, and some said she inherited it from Robert’s father. The stories were never straight for the matters of the royals of Tick Moon Pack. I stepped into the house with my right foot, then turned behind me to glance at the Omega that was sent to work for me since Robert’s mother, Alicia only liked her maids to work for her. “You may stay here, I will call you in after I settle in,” I told her before I walked into the living room. It had a rusty little carpet at the threshold that looked like it had been in that position since Robert was in diapers, and her furniture was all antique. She had expensive paintings too that were hung on the wall, which looked far more expensive than the building she housed them in. If her house wasn’t on the outskirts of town and guarded by heavily armed bodyguards, her house would be a center of robbery in our pack. I sighed before I went deeper into the sitting room. “Alicia?” I whispered timidly as my hands began to sweat from anxiety. The last time I saw her, it didn’t go so well so I was dreading seeing her now. “Come in,” I heard a throaty voice yell from the kitchen which startled me, but I still went ahead regardless. I whirled my feet towards the direction of her kitchen door and I peeped my head in the door before I stepped into it. She had her long hair tied down in a messy low bun and a dress that had odd-looking floral prints. It made her look way older than her age. “Good day Alicia.” I bowed my head in respect as she burned her gaze on me, and I couldn’t help but take an awkward breath in and out. “Did you come with Robbie?” She asked with a raised brow. I shook my head, already used to her rude behavior towards me. I didn’t expect her to be nice either way, “He is not here, had some matters to deal with back in the pack.” “I see,” she narrowed her eyes as she crossed both arms and leaned against the counter. “Then this is going to be a long damn weekend for the both of us.” “I’ll try my best to please you, Alicia,” I shoved down the bitter words that were threatening to erupt out of my mouth and down my throat. “I hope this brings us closer as Robert intended it to.” She gave me a fake smile, “I pray it doesn’t, now go feed my pets some food.” I shook my head, knowing this was going to happen all along. Whenever we were together, she made me do work she would usually give her Omegas because she knew I was one once upon a time. “I would do that Alicia, but I need to be shown my room first so I freshen up and rest,” I said with a stern voice. Alicia chuckled, “Grown some balls pretty damn fast.” “I’m just asking for a place to rest Alicia.” I sighed. “Well, I don’t have room for you little leech. Go find someplace in the Omegas room to lay your pathetic ass since Robert decided he didn’t want to follow your sorry ass to my goddamn house.” Her statement made a vein tick in my forehead, and I was suddenly seeing red, “You know it’s not my fault that Robbie doesn’t want to see you. If you were a good mother perhaps he would be willing to come to your house for the weekend, but he didn’t.” I said in a calm, angry tone. “What did you say to me?” She asked, her gaze burning through me, but I was not scared. Robert wasn’t here to he wouldn’t try to chasten me for doing whatever I was doing now, and I had enough of her nonsense and it hadn’t even been five minutes. “I said you should stop treating me like an Omega because I’m your son's wife. If you don’t see it then you might as well need a prescription glass.” I hissed, folding both of my arms on my chest. “Get out of my house Rachel.” She said, her lips in a thin angry line. “I came here unwillingly, but I’m not going back to Robbie and telling him that I couldn’t stand his mother for two minutes, so show me my room, Alicia.” “You can go f**k yourself,” she picked up a pestle from her counter as her eyes started to change into a darker shade. It made me shiver because that’s usually the look Robert has on his face when he’s about to hurt me. “Leave my house before I burst your goddamn head open” I could tell she was serious, and I could tell she was angry so I turned my heels back and left the kitchen. I picked up my things before I left the sitting room, and found my maid sitting on a boulder that was sitting in front of Alicia’s house’s door. When she saw me, she stood up. “We are going back,” I said with finality, and a straight face as my heart was boiling with anger and hatred I had for Alicia. She had made my life miserable once, I was not about to let her do the same thing while I was married to Robert. It would be night by the time we reached the palace, and I didn’t know how to tell Alpha Robert what happened between us without making him even angrier than he was with me.
