Chapter 18:
After her meeting with Ludmila, Helena went back to her stateroom to make her plans for the night’s excursion Time and the management of it became one of Helena’s biggest concerns. Her sleepless nights were filled with anxieties out of her control, including her parent’s journals and what they meant. Her days centered around running the ship and worrying over more problems beyond her influence. There never seemed to be enough time.
When she got to her room, her mother’s journal drew her attention. Now that she could read the writing, it didn’t take long for her to devour the first page of the book.
It was as she feared for some time now. Her mother came right out and said it in the second sentence.
