Chapter 16: Surprisingly, Helena woke up with a clear mind. She was certain she stayed awake for many hours trying hard to decipher the meanings in the squiggles. She was unsuccessful. Deirdre was already awake, Helena heard her in the adjoining room. She assumed Doyle had stirred as well. She was fairly certain everyone was ready to travel, even if the ships were not ready. The open skies called to them. The two women found Doyle’s room empty. The pair marched with determination to the lobby, where they had porters collect the shopping from the previous day.
