Chapter 6

"Violet," Robert said, gently shaking me awake. My eyes fluttered open, to find that I was half laying on Robert. I jumped up out of bed and apologised, "I am sorry. What time is it?" "Don't be sorry, I was enjoying our cuddles. But, I don't want you to be late for your first day of school. You have two hours before school starts and your phone has been blowing up over there with texts." I walked over to my phone, and sure enough, ten texts from Amelia asking, "Did you guys sleep together? What happened? Did you want me to pick you up for school?" So I typed back, "Pick me up in one hour and I will tell you everything." She texted back a split second later, "I knew it. I will be there." "It was just Amelia asking if I wanted a lift to school. I am going for a shower. Will you be here when I get out," I asked. He shook his head, looking disappointed. "I missed out on a lot of work yesterday, so I need to go so I can get the work done. But, good luck today. I might see you at lunch time," Robert said, walking towards me. He leaned down and planted his lips on mine. Oh, how I didn't want that kiss to end. He pulled away, threw his shirt on, before heading for the door. He gave me one last kiss and left. I rushed into the bathroom, had a quick shower and brushed my teeth, before going into my wardrobe. I threw on a match bra and underwear set, before throwing on a pair of skinny high-waisted black jeans and a red cold shoulder top. I did my hair and put my high-heeled black ankle boots on. I packed my trains, gym clothes, and school books in my bag. I made my way downstairs and out the door to Amelia, who was waiting in her car. I jumped in and she started driving to school, while I told her everything that happened. She was so excited for me and happy too. Arriving at school, everyone was staring at me. We made our way to class and I asked Amelia, "Why are they all staring at me?" "One, your new. Two, they probably heard what happened yesterday. And three, you smell like King Robert. He scent marked you so they can smell him all over you," she replied. "Great, remind me to smack him later for that," I chuckled. She laughed along with me, as we arrived at our first class, Maths. Once in class, the teacher gave everyone a pop quiz sheet and said, "I am Mister Devon. Today, we are going to talk about Algerba for the first half an hour and then, for the last, you will be filling in the quiz." Little did he know I had already completed the test, and Amelia had been slyly copying my answers. When we were told to begin the test, I mind-linked Amelia, "Wait five minutes after me and take your test to the teacher." I stood up and walked to the front desk. I handed my test to Mister Devon and he said, "How did you finish this so fast?" "It was easy." He nodded and began grading my work. Once he finished, he handed it to me with a great big A plus. I smiled and left the classroom. I made my way straight to the library. I quickly searched the stacks to find anything on White wolves. I found one book, just as Robert pushed a mindlink open between us, "Violet, where are you? Quinn walked past your class and you weren't there. I am worried about you." "I am fine. I am in the library looking for books on white wolves. We had a quiz in maths class and Mister Devon said we could go once we completed it. I did so within minutes," I replied to him in our mindlink. "Really, what grade did you get on the quiz," his voice sounded excited over the mindlink. "I got an A plus," I boasted in our mindlink. "Well, I am proud and impressed. I would suggest you get to your next class soon," he said pridefully in his mind-link. "I am just going to take this book I have found and I will go to my next lesson," I replied before cutting off the mindlink. I took the book out of the library and left to go to my next class. I met Amelia outside the classroom and we went into class together. We had English next, with Miss Summers. We were reading Shakespeare sonnets. I had completely zoned out, busy reading the book I got from the library. When Miss Summers criticized me, "Miss Dean, this is an English lesson not a History lesson." "Isn't Shakepeare in the past, so therefore, History, which in turn would make this a History lesson," I taunted back. "Read sonnet 98. Oh, you don't have a book. It looks like you still need help little wolf," She smirked as she saunted back to the front of the class. I sighed heavily, drawing her attention back to me, "From you have I have been absent in the spring, When proud-pied April dress'd in all histrim Hath put a spirit of youth in every thing, That heavy Saturn laugh'd and leap'd with him. Yet nor the lays of birds nor the sweet smell Of different flowers in odour and in hue Could make me any summer's story tell, Or from their proud lap pluck them where they grew, Nor did I wonder at the lily's white, Nor praise the deep vermilion in the rose; They were but sweet, but figures of delight, Drawn after you, you pattern of all those. Yet seem'd it winter still, and, you away, As with your shadow I with these did play." She stood there, her jaw dropped, completely shocked. I rose to my feet, grabbing my books and bag, and I smirked at her, "I might be a wolf, but I could still best half of you here without breaking a sweat, whether that's physically or mentally. I also don't need a book, because I have already learnt it. Don't try to challenge or insult me again, because, quite frankly, you will lose, Miss Summers." I stormed out of the classroom just as the lunch bell sounded. Amelia chased after me. She caught up with me and we went to the lunch hall together. We sat down after getting our lunch and Amelia giggled, "Miss Summers always likes picking on us and you stuck it to her big time. No one has ever done that before." "Well, it is about time someone put that rotten old cow in her place," I shrugged. Quinn and Skylar came up to us, and Quinn said, "Violet, I trust you're well. Skylar, here has something to say to you." "I am very sorry for what I said yesterday. Please forgive me," Skylar apologized. I nodded, "Okay. Is there anything else, Quinn?" "Yes, Robert sent me to collect you. He has an office in the teachers' lounge," Quinn replied. I nodded and got up to follow Quinn. He led me through the corridors and into the teachers' lounge. Most of the teachers were there, including Miss Summers. "That new girl is incredibly bright," Mister Devon said. "Yes, but she is all stuck up and might think she is better than us, Lycans. Silly little wolf," Miss Summers scoffed. "Miss Summers, you will show respect to your students and also to your future Queen," Robert appeared behind me, scolding Miss Summers. "What a wolf will never be my Queen," she hissed. Quinn grabbed her and dragged her away. While Robert offered me his hand, which I took. He pulled me into his office. He sat on his sofa and pulled me on to his lap. "I am sorry about her." "She tried embarrassing me in class. I put her in her place though. How come I am here," I asked. "I wanted to see my beautiful mate's face. And to see how she was doing at school. And to see that library book. Maybe even make out a little before she has her gym class," he replied. "Well, make out I can certainly do," I said, as I leaned in and pressed my lips against his. For the rest of my lunch break, we made out and talked about the book I had found in the library. I also explained what me and my parents were able to find in our research about white wolves.
