Elona's POV
I reached my hand out with my eyes still closed but I felt an empty space beside me. I opened my eyes but squinted at the sunlight. Tristan wasn't beside me and I sat up straight taking in the surroundings of my bedroom. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. As I stretched I winced as my body was stiff and sore. I was still naked. Tristan finally f^cked me and I smiled to myself.
I looked over to my bedside table and there was a folded note laying against the lamp. I reached for it and unfolded it.
Elona, I don't want you to think that I just got up and left. I am being careful. I waited until you fell asleep and then I left. I love to stare at you even while you sleep. You are beautiful and you make me forget about things. Please, come over to my house, Cris is away for the weekend and you have me all to yourself. I love you. Tristan.
My heart stopped when I read the last part. There it was again. I love you. I traced the words with the tip of my index finger. So what he said last night was true. He loves me. I heard that correctly. Smiling, I folded the note and got out of bed. As sore as my body was, I was not used to this but it was great. I do hope that it gets better.
I placed the note into my vanity drawer and I took out my clothes that I would wear today which was a floral sundress. I took my clothes from the previous day and I discarded them into my laundry basket which was next to my vanity cabinet. I took a shower and I was reminded of the moment that Tristan and I shared together the previous day.
Water poured all over me as I stood under the shower and I washed away that moment. But my brows furrowed. Did my dad come back home last night? He did say that I shouldn't wait up for him. Once I was done in the shower, I grabbed a towel and dried myself, got dressed and I walked out of my bedroom.
The aroma of breakfast filled my nostrils as I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. "Good morning, Dad," I smiled.
"Hey, I am starving, so I decided to cook breakfast for us, I hope that you are hungry," he said as I sat on the bar stool.
"I won't say no," I continued to smile as he placed eggs and bacon onto my plate before turning away from me as he switched the stove off. "So, when did you get back home?" I asked as I took a fork and began to eat.
"I got home just after midnight. Tristan tried calling me earlier the evening when he was at our house. He was worried about you because he couldn't get a hold of you for something which was career-related." he said and I knew that Tristan had lied to him about the career-related part.
"I'm sorry to worry anyone. It's just that Spooky never replied to our texts or calls and we never saw him. So Cris and I were supposed to check if he was okay but then Cris has this SNT thing for this weekend, so I went by myself. He isn't feeling well, and his phone is broken but I just hope that he is truly okay." I said, my mind drifting off to Spooky now.
"You are a great friend and so is Cris," he smiled at me.
"I will be going to Tristan after this, I want to apologize and see why he needs me for the career-related thing," I had to lie to him for my reasons as to why I will be going to Tristan.
"You usually call him Uncle Tristan," Dad said. Sh^t.
"Sorry, Dad," I forced a smile.
After I was done with breakfast, I went to Tristan. I just wanted to get away from home so that my father wouldn't even get suspicious if I slip up.
I walked up the steps and then I knocked on the front door. Tristan opened the door almost immediately. He reached out and grabbed my wrist, pulling me inside with a smirk. He was dressed in a light blue t-shirt and a dark blue jeans. He shut the door closed and he pressed me against it. He leaned in as he caged me in with both of his hands against the door.
He pressed his lips to mine and I moved my hands up his chest. He pulled inches away, "Good morning." he smiled. I loved this...to see him happy.
"Good morning," I replied, returning his smile.
"How are you feeling?" he asked.
"I am sore, but all good."
"Well, I will wait a bit until you are no longer sore." He pulled further away from me and he took my hand in his. He led me towards the kitchen, he pulled the chair out for me and I took a seat.
He rounded the table and took something from the kitchen counter. When he came closer, he had a plate of pancakes and a slice of chocolate cake. "It's early for cake," I said but I loved chocolate cake. I do not eat any other types of cake.
"Well, I wanted to surprise you with your favorite this morning," he smiled as he sat down.
"Thank you," I said.
His phone rang and he took it out of his pocket. He frowned as he looked at the screen. "Excuse me, I have to take this," he answered his phone. "Crane..." I just sat there not even touching the pancakes and cake. He let out a heavy breath and he ran his hand through his hair, "Fine, and thank you," he hung up.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"No, everything is not okay. Someone hacked into my company. So far the person that might have done this is being investigated. The thing is...I have worked so hard for my company and I put all my blood , sweat and tears into it. The pain that I had since Estelle's death, drove me to work harder. That is what grief did to me. In that time, I became more successful, I hardly even have any rivals. But there are always people out there who wants to steal. Stealing other people's hard work." he leaned back in the chair and I can see that hurt. The mask slipping away because of someone else that was stealing from his company.
"You don't deserve any of this. I know how hard you have been working. I see that and you are only starting to have fun now-"
"Please, with you...this is nothing close to 'fun' because with you, I am serious and happy. I feel alive again. You are not just some kind of booty call for me or a one night stand. With you...it is more than any of that. Sure, there may be fun moments where we can laugh together and go out. But you are a diamond to me that I cannot let you slip out of my grasp. I won't find another woman like you. You remind me about Estelle, the softness, she got whatever she wanted and she didn't let anyone stand in her way but with you, your career choice, I am still against that. I have to respect you too but I am here to protect you from the world out there too." he held my gaze and I swallowed.
"I know that you mean well, but I will be fine." I gave him a reassuring smile.
He looked down at the table, "After working so hard with my company, there were lots of funds and investments. I could buy even more buildings and open up more companies. The gallery where your mother's painting will be...it was flooded due to a pipe burst and we had to push back the date of the exhibition. Don't worry, all the paintings are being kept safe in a storage room. Also I have lost half of my money due to the hacking. Luckily, my teams have stopped them from taking all of it, including my clients," his eyes glazed over.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," My heart broke for him in this situation. "Are you able to get all of it back?" I asked.
"I hope so. Everything is being taken care of, investigations...everything. I want that hacker to be found and I want my staff to be questioned thoroughly. Monday will be the day that I will unleash my wrath on them. I am not going to be this lenient boss I used to be. They hit a part of me that poured all of myself into the company," he said and I saw his eyes darken with anger.
"First see who is behind it. It may not even be an inside job but I get it...you have to look everywhere and they can be anywhere."
"Exactly," he replied and I reached out to him, resting my hand on his, giving it a gentle squeeze. "On a different note. I wanted to make love to you again but you need to recover from last night," he said.
I pulled my hand away, " I think so too. It was pretty intense-"
"And painful." he smiled.
"I hurt you," I said which was barely a whisper.
"It's fine. I am huge so..." He shrugged. "I guess that is to be expected."
I was not going to tell him that I was a virgin and that was the reason, but I was curious about another thing. "How did Estelle and Maggie handle you when in intimate moments?" I asked hesitantly.
"Well, it was the same at first. The more we had s^x the more it became better. With Maggie, it was a one-night stand, so we f^cked nearly the entire night, she was sore in the morning but nothing compared to you. You were very tight and for a minute I actually thought that you were a virgin but when a woman doesn't have s^x in a long time, it tends to get painful again for a woman. Estelle and I were just married and we didn't have s^x as much. I had to go to London for a few months and then we had s^x again, it felt like the first time all over again for her." he shrugged.
I needed that information. "So it doesn't really get any better unless we f^ck all the time?" I was hoping that it would become better even after a while.
"The more we do it, the better it becomes. I will go nowhere, so you are secretively stuck with me," he smirked.
"Until next year. I just hope that Cris and my dad will take the news well."
"I hope so too. Now, eat up because I plan for us to watch a movie today." he stood up from the chair. But then his phone rang, I started to eat the cake which was delicious. I was oblivious to his phone call because I was enjoying my favorite cake. "I have to go to work to sort something out. I hope that you will be okay with that, You can stay here, I won't be that long," he said to me with sadness in those eyes.
"I will be here," I offered a smile. He leaned in and placed a kiss on the top of my head and then he left.
I placed the fork on the plate with my half eaten cake and I stood up. I walked through the house just exploring. I went all the way to the bigger section of the house, where he played the piano for me and then I went to the study room which was bigger than the other one he started to use after Estelle's death.
I pushed the door further open and it creaked. I stepped inside. It was clean yet the desk was full of dust. I walked by the bookshelves and there were photos of Cris, Estelle and Tristan. They were so happy. I traced the photo with the tip of my finger. I stepped away from the bookshelf where the photos were and I went behind the desk, pulling the leather chair out. It was covered with a white sheet.
I took a seat. I opened the drawer and then there was a framed photo that was glass but turned on its front. I took it out and when I looked at the picture...my heart sank and tears stung the back of my eyes. It was a framed photo of an ultrasound. The baby was the shape of a bean. The baby that they lost in Estelle's car accident.
