Tristan's POV I didn't want Elona to go with Spooky to the movie theater. That was the last thing that I wanted. I was p^ssed, that prick better not agree to go. As I walked down the street towards my house, I contemplated whether to go to Spooky's house and make sure that he would not go. I turned around, and I walked all the way past Elona's house until I reached Spooky's. I walked down the driveway, the garden was not really cared for, and I scrunched my face at it. I love a neat garden. This neighborhood is for luxury, for wealthy people, but this place seemed to be abandoned. I walked up the few steps and I rang the doorbell. The door opened, "Mr Crane, is everything okay?" Spooky asked, hesitating as he looked past me to check if there was anyone else with me, and then he looked at me again. I am even annoyed with him wearing black all the time. "I need you to stay away from Elona. She wants to go to the movies with you and I don't want you to agree to that." "Um...you are a little too late for that. She already texted me like two minutes ago, and I agreed," he said. "You will tell her that something came up," I said through clenched teeth, moving a step forward, scowling at him. "Tristan, that won't happen, she is my friend," he scoffed and shook his head in disbelief. "It's Mr Crane for you," I warned him, moving closer to him. "I know that you might be jealous of me being around Elona, and it is actually funny, but I didn't do anything wrong to jeopardize my friendship with her or your daughter. You are not Elona's father and I get that maybe you want to look out for her, but it's more than that and I won't be saying anything about it because I can clearly see why you are so jealous, it makes you...possessive of the person that you want, and it makes you cruel to the ones that you love. I have seen things in my years at school. I am quite the observer, I don't say a word, but look at how things unfold. I have seen how she looks at you too. Your secret is safe with me, but just know that you will never stop me from seeing her," he smirked at me. "I will see her tonight, and thanks for the little visit, Mr Crane," he emphasized my last name before closing the door in my face. That prick. I clenched my jaw and let out a frustrated breath as I ran my hand through my hair. I don't know what I will do with him, but he knows that there is something between Elona and myself where nothing really happened, not even a f^cking kiss. I have to be careful because I do not trust him. When I got to my house, Cris was sitting at the dining table, sipping coffee and scrolling through her phone. "We need to talk," I said, as I pulled the chair out of the table and I took a seat. She looked up from her phone as she placed the mug gently on the table. "Am I free to go?" She asked, her eyes wide. "Yes, but there is a reason for it," I said before she could get all excited. "What is it?" she leaned back in the chair, narrowing her eyes at me. "Spooky and Elona are going to the movie theater tonight, and I think that you should join them. I don't trust them to be alone. I want you to keep an eye on them, and you can have fun, but you need to behave or face the consequences of being grounded again," I warned. She scoffed, "Dad, I get that you are being overprotective of Elona for some reason, but she can be with whomever she wants to unless Uncle David says otherwise. She will be in college next year, and she will be making her own choices," she smirked as she reached for her mug and took a sip of her coffee. I narrowed my eyes at her, "Why are you smirking like that?" I asked. "Well, whenever you grounded me, you never ground me until the end of the period given to me because you feel too sorry after a while, it was just a matter of time. And I know that you are looking out for Elona as a daughter too, but... I was an only child for so long, you and mom never tried again after me." she looked at me with sadness in her eyes and I just couldn't look at her without feeling as if I would break down. "I'm sorry to bring up mom, but you having fun and being with Maggie made me feel happy for you, why don't you go and see her? Maybe this time you can be happy again. Maybe I won't be the only sibling after all." I looked up at her, furrowing my brows because I knew what she was saying...but I don't want any kids. "Elona has been there all the years, she is a sister to me... A sister or sibling that I never had, and I get that you want to protect her, which is a nice thing, but she will be fine. She has a head on her body and she won't make stupid decisions." "Stupid decisions that you made her do," I stated with disappointment. She looked down, "Do not corrupt your friend, who is innocent and perfect." She glared at me this time. "It sounds to me that she is the perfect daughter that you never had," she stood up, the chair screeching. "Cris, sit down. I didn't mean it that way," if only she knew what I really meant. "I will go as you ask. I will first go and make it up to Elona by taking them out to dinner at your favorite restaurant. Thanks, dad," she said, and she left, but she still had disappointment written on her face. I let out a breath. I still don't feel satisfied. I wish that I could be alone with Elona again, but there is always something coming up when those moments are interrupted. As I continue to have this nagging feeling after Cris had left to take Spooky and Elona to my favorite restaurant, I can't help but think about what Cris had done, taking Elona to a club. It is not just that, but it is the fact that I want to see with my own eyes that everything is as it should be. My phone rang as I sat on the recliner in the lounge with a glass of Scotch. I reached for my phone on the coffee table. It was David. My heart was beating fast. I hoped that nothing had happened because Cris just left ten minutes ago. I answered, "David, is everything alright?" I asked. "Yeah, I see that Cris is no longer grounded, she just came to get Elona, and then they will be off to dinner and a movie as well as the photoshoot with Spooky. I wanted us to grab a few drinks at the bar, are you up for it?" he asked, my jaw clenched when I thought about the photoshoot with Spooky. "Yeah, I will meet you there," I said and then I hung up. I gulped the rest of the Scotch down, and then I got up, took my car keys and left. Walking into the place that Estelle and I would go to all the time when it was date nights or just to have our fun and special moments of celebrations, it felt like every other time that I would be here, the lights were dimmed. I scanned the room for familiar faces, I was about to have drinks with my friend who might just kill me if he ever finds out that I have developed a new type of love for his daughter...love, not lust or infatuation. It was becoming more than that...love. I finally spotted them and I reached the table. I looked at the one that had taken my breath away and who was busy stealing my heart too. She looks at me with wide eyes, she looks beautiful, her hair loose and her lips red compared to earlier, completely oblivious to Cris and Spooky sitting on either side of her. "Dad, what are you doing here?"
