“Don’t be alarmed. Yes, the vessel is from the Council, although not from Titan. It came directly from the Home World Capital. They ask to approach, link up, and send an envoy across to parley. They guarantee they’ve come alone and in peace under a banner of truce.”
Someone almost immediately turned on the control cabin audio so every word came through the intercom. A bit of an argument seemed to be taking place. While a few of the command group feared a trick, an ambush, or worse, Nakai, as always, sounded calm and assured.
“No, the vessel is too small to carry anything that dangerous. We need to talk to them and we will. The Council has had ample time to recognize the ramifications of Hightower’s Betrayal. Something tells me things will be different this time.”
