The King's mate

Alexandria's POV

Do I have regrets about killing my parents? Hell no!!! They deserved it, and I will not apologise to anyone who feels I am cruel for killing them. I do not know where my sisters are or even if they are still alive. Do I give a damn? Hell no! They all gave me hell when I had no wolf, and they even made me their slave in the pack. They never stood up for me, and I can give a s**t where they are. I am sitting on my mate's lap, and he is not going to let me go. I can feel it in his grip.

"Can I sit on my own?" I ask after a little while, but his face tells me he will not let me.

"No! Sit still!  You and I have a lot to sort out," The King says, and he does not sound happy.

"Okay, but you not going to fight with your grandmother. It was all my fault, and I told her not to tell her where I was," I say.

"Oh, I am going to talk with both of you!" He says.

"Oh, I hope there is a 'thank you, for saving my life is somewhere in your speech," I say.

"Thank you for almost giving me almost a bloody heart attack and putting your life in danger!" He says.

"Well, if you would have listened to your grandmother a long time ago, this would have to happen, but no 'King Know it All' does not listen to a woman," I say.

"Stop your bloody sarcasm," He says. His grandmother and grandfather look at each other, smiling. I wonder what they are thinking off.

"Well, let me sit on my own! I am a big girl, and I can sit on my own, I promise you," I say.

"I said no! Now stop nagging like an old woman and sit still!" He says. I was eyeing the sunroof. If only I can get him to let go of me, I am sure I can open and escape the car before anyone of them can move. I look at the sunroof again.

"And that is why you will sit on my lap until we reach the Kingdom," Aiden says, and I look at him, feeling guilty. He must have seen what the hell I was planning.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," I say innocently.

"You have been looking at that sunroof every five seconds, and I know you are planning an escape," Aiden says. Well, damn, so much for my plan. I can mind-link my spies for help, but I somehow know they will not go against their king. As much as they love me, they love him more for bringing new life and prosperity into the Kingdom, and they want us to be together.

"I was not. By the way, where do you think I will go? Your people love you, and the ones that hated you are almost all taken out," I say.

"I don't trust you. You have been hiding from me since I accepted you, which brings me to the next topic. Do you take me as your mate and your King?" He asks. I am a bit taken aback. I did not expect him to ask me that in front of his grandparents.

"Can we leave it for when we are alone?" I ask.

"No! I want an answer now," Aiden says, and I glare at him as he knows very well I do not want to disappoint his grandmother.

"Okay, then I accept you as my King and my mate," I say, hoping he will not notice I have not said the whole bloody line I am supposed to.

"Say it the right way then," He says. The whole time we are talking, no one else is saying a word.

"I, Alexandria Moore, accept you as my mate, Alpha and King," I say.

"I, Aiden Black, accept you Alexandria Moore as my mate, Luna and Queen," Aiden says, and I bite on my teeth the first time he said nothing about a Luna, and now I had to go and spoil it all by mentioning the Alpha part. Although he is King of the Kingdom, Aiden remains an Alpha of the Royal Moon Pack, and he has to accept me as his Luna as well. Yeah. so much for my last bloody brain cell, it just died, and I can only blame the fact that he is driving me crazy with his hard body next to mine and the fact that he smells so damn good. Aiden Black, the King of Werewolves, had bewitched me. Damn, I am so disappointed in myself.

"Thank you for reminding me I forgot about the Luna part," He says, and I can feel him laughing. I turn my head to the back, and yeah, he is laughing.

"Stupid brain does not work around you," I whisper to myself, but he heard it and laughed again. I Move around on his lap as I can feel him getting hard. It will teach him to laugh at me.

"f**k! Sit still!" He says again. This time his grandfather bursts out laughing.

"Getting uncomfortable, Aiden?" His grandfather asks, and I blush. s**t, I must remember there are other silent people in the car. Even the driver burst out laughing as he knows what the Old king meant.

"Hahahaha, it will teach you for teasing her, Aiden," His grandmother laughs. I did not move the rest of the way as I was embarrassed. As we reach the kingdom, I see the hut where I stayed when Lana saved me. s**t, I was that close to him?

We stop in front of the enormous palace, and Aiden gets out, but he picks me up and carries me into the castle.

"I can walk, you know?" I say, but Aiden does not listen to me and carries me in.

He walks with me to the dining room, and there is a big feast prepared for us. f**k, I hope he does not feed me as well, as he obviously treats me like a baby.

"I can eat by myself," I say when I see the food and his grandmother laughs. His grandfather is choking on the whiskey he just poured himself, and Aiden looks at me as if he will kill me. He puts me down on a chair, and his grandmother and grandfather join us at the table. I realise how hungry I am as I look at the feast in front of me.

"Let's eat. I am hungry after the fight," Aiden's grandfather says.

"I did not have so much fun since the last time the two of us fought together, my love," His grandmother says and his grandfather smiles.

"Those were the days, my love. I remember you being just as hardass as our grandson's little mate. Alexandria, you remind me so much of my wife. I am glad you are the one that is my grandson's mate," He says, and I try to smile and say something, but my mouth is full of the soft succulent steak, and I just shake my head, trying to eat faster so I can thank him. Aiden looks at me and smiles. He, too, has a mouth full of steak. At last, I swallow it down and smiles.

"Well, thank you, sir. Yeah, I hope he listens to me, unlike you, sir, who never wanted to listen to your wife," I say before thinking. Lana burst out laughing, and even her husband has to laugh. Aiden looks at me like I am an alien.

"I have learned my lesson, and call me grandpa. My name is Walter, and as you know, grandma's name is Lana," Walter says, and I smile.

"Nice to meet you, grandpa," I say.

"You two better not teach her to disobey me," Aiden says dryly.

"Excuse me. We are partners. You are not my boss," I say. I still have to get used to having a mate and a King mate at that. He is used to ordering everyone around, so I will have to be patient with him. I guess.

"I know," Aiden says and eats again. Not a man of man words, I guess.

"So when do you two want to do the ritual?" His grandmother asks, and I almost choked on my food. Wow, damn, I have not even settled in yet, and they want me to be Queen.

"Tonight," Aiden says, and this time, I choke.

"Wait! What!?" I ask after swallowing my food down with some wine. I am not used to wine. I am used to wolfsbane and even a bit of silver but wine, nope, I never had it in my life until tonight.

"You heard me," Aiden says.

"I can't become Queen tonight," I say.

"Why not?" He asks.

"Because I hardly know you, and if I become Queen tonight, we will have to ... you know, seal the bond," I say.

"Yeah, and so? Mates meet, they have s*x, and they have pups. It is our nature," Aiden says, and I know he is doing it to punish me for hiding from him.

"Well, can't we do it tomorrow at least? We all had a hard day," I ask, but Lana has already jumped up and started giving orders.

"Listen, if you think I am letting you out of my sight for one second and give you the chance to run away and hide from me again, think again, Alexandria," Aiden says. Well, he has a point. I would most probably try to run away before I accepted him, but now my wolf will not let me.

"Listen, I can not run away from you if I tried as my wolf will not allow me," I say.

"I ain't taking any chances, so you better finish eating and go get ready," Aiden says as he stands up from the table and walks to his office. I have no choice but to go with Lana to get ready.

Aiden's POV

There is a reason why I want her to become my Queen tonight. I never trusted my mother and father, and I knew that they would like to return to the Kingdom when they run out of money and claim the crown. If I don't have a mate, they can do so, and I have found out they have plans to return in the next week. I have my spies. I feel bad that I have to force Alexandria to become my Queen tonight, but I also know my mother and father has spies in the Kingdom, and it will not be long before they hear the news of me having a mate. I sigh. I love Alexandria's attitude and the way she fought. She killed her parents without hesitation as she knew they were terrible people. Some people will think of her as cruel and heartless for killing them the way she did, bit mot me. I know what she is going through as I feel the same about my parents. At least I had a grandmother and grandfather that cared about me. She had no one. Her father even called her a b***h. So much for fatherly love.

Alexandria is everything I want, and my wolf yearns for her. I will not force her to complete the mate-bond tonight, but I want to hold her and be close to her. She is the one that saved my grandfather and me tonight, and we fought side by side. I respect her. She is strong and everything I dreamed of.

"Thank you, Goddess, for sending me my perfect mate," I say as I sit in my office, staring out at the moon. I mind-link my pack to gather at the palace in half an hour.

There is a soft knock on my door.

"Enter," I say. Alexandria walks in.

"I slipped away from grandma for a bit. So you want to tell me why you are in such a hurry to get this done? There is a threat against the Kingdom, ain't there?" She asks. She is clever. I show her to sit and tells her everything.

"Well, then, my King, I will become your Queen in every sense of the word tonight. We can not take any chances," She says, and at that moment, I realise just how lucky I am to have her. Mate-bond or not, I know I love her.
