We circled each other, our breaths coming out in frosty puffs.
The woman suddenly stopped before she struck with lightning speed, her blade a blur of motion. But I evaded her strikes, sidestepping and dodging with a warrior's grace. Every movement was a calculated risk, every counterattack a lethal blow.
I needed to get rid of that stupid blade that was keeping a distance between us.
If I could tear it away from her hand, then that would aid me in my battle.
A flicker of uncertainty flashed across her face, her confidence wavering for a split second. And in that moment, I saw my opportunity.
