CHAPTER 5: I NEVER KNEW

1143 Words
DAMIAN “Who is she?” “Why is she appearing in my dreams?” “Why?” “You need to stop!” I said to my wolf. I don’t know who this person is. “Why do you keep bringing flashes of her to my head?” Stop It. I struggled with my wolf as I rolled on the floor. The hairs on my skin grew longer and thicker. My emotions were heightened. I felt active all of a sudden and I felt this pull to the strange girl appearing in my dreams. She looked familiar but I didn’t even want to know who she was. I had a lot in my head. It was the mating ceremony of the Crystal Moon pack. I couldn’t pick a mate and these visions and dreams have been disturbing me even before then. As the Alpha, it would only tag me as weak. I cant afford to look like that in front of my pack. But what can I do? These visions keep messing with my sanity every single time. I was always in dispute with my wolf. An unusual incident. “Who would reason with me?” “That a whole Alpha is having troubles with his wolf all because of a dream?” I must not allow it. I keep hearing the word ‘mate’ in my dreams. “Could it be what I am thinking?” “We need to find her. She is ours,” my wolf whispered to me. “What am I thinking?” “Could this be the reason I couldn’t find a mate?” I need to see Blue Eyes before anything. He would know what this is about. Blue Eyes was the Shaman of my pack. He is the messenger of the great goddess and speaks to her directly in the realm link. He must have an answer or perhaps a solution to this. I didn’t hesitate any longer. I stood and sought for him in his private chambers. “I am troubled, Blue Eyes. I keep seeing her in my dreams,” I said to him. He was clothed in his red robe and long necklace that had a half moon pendant attached to it. His blue eyes pierced mine as he stared deeply like he could see inside my soul. The Shaman was never a particular gender. Today, he is an old lady. Tomorrow is a young bald man in his late 40s. As at now, he is appearing as an old bearded man. I hold him in high esteem. He is like a father to me. Even as Alpha of the pack, I still act like a baby around him. “She is your fated mate, my son,” his voice bounced my thoughts off. “Uhn?” “What is Blue Eyes saying? “She is Bella, the Red Wolf. Don’t you remember her?” “Oh my! I said it. That face was familiar. How could I have forgotten her so quickly?” “I remember. Her father told me the actions he took against her after the ugly incident.” “But how is she my mate? Even her father doesn’t want her. He claims she is a bad fruit and doesn’t deserve to stay amongst us.” “Why am I even doubting it?” “Blue Eyes would never lie to me.” “Bella! My mate” Her name ringed in my ears once more. “You have to find her. You are meant to be together. She holds a stronger link with you than you can possibly imagine and together, you are going to be great!” I have never seen Blue Eyes speak with so much conviction and certainty. He sounded so serious. “Find her. She is your mate!” he reiterated. ****** BELLA “This can’t be true!” I refuse to believe. “What I just heard from Laura and Alpha Christian can’t be right” “What does he mean I come from the Raven family?” Who are those people? Did my parents lie to me? No, this can’t be true. Was that why my father found it easy to disown me?! No!!!! I refuse to believe this. I won’t. I can feel my blood in my veins rushing. Tears rolled down my eyes as I thought about what I just heard. “What if he was saying the truth? He talked about having healing powers. I don’t even know what that is. My wolf wouldn’t even talk to me. Whilst in that state, I heard sound of footsteps on the stairs. I was seated in my room. That might be Christian. Immediately, I wiped the tears off my face. The door opened slightly and someone peeped through. “Can I come in?” It was one of Christian’s maiden. “Why are you here?” I asked. To remind you of the killer you are. “What?” You know Bella, I have thought about it thoroughly and I think I now know the truth. “You are a castaway looking for a pack to ruin with your bad fortune.” The shock and the surprise that gripped me that very moment was far above what I could explain. How does she know all of this? “Is this some kind of joke?” “How dare you?” My face swelled and my body became hot. She wouldn’t stop attacking me with all sort of words. It felt like my past was replaying itself right in front of me. “You need to stop!” I shouted at her. “Get out of my room, please,” Despite being a maiden, I chose to treat her with respect. I knew what I was capable of but it felt like she was enjoying it. “No wonder the Alpha rejected you! I suppose this won’t be your first time being rejected, slut!” Those words hit deep and I felt a sharp sensation at my feet. My legs vibrated and I could feel them getting bigger. “Oh no! My wolf!” “You have to leave. Don’t piss me off. Leave. I have nothing to say to you,” I warned her. I felt hurt by her words but that wasn’t the only thing to deal with at that moment. I can’t control my wolf and she seems to be angry. I could feel her rage inside of me. The fool won’t even move an inch. The maiden kept hurling insults at me. And just in the blink of an eye, I grabbed the furniture beside me and threw it at her. (Blood splashes) What have I done? The door creaked open and a figure walked in. Who I saw caught me by surprise! Uh? I stammered.
