I kept my word and stayed by Rose's side during her entire exam. As expected, she was dehydrated, malnourished, and many broken bones that had healed incorrectly. The doctor wants to keep her overnight or maybe even longer. As much as I want to stay with my best friend, I also want to be with Alice. After the doctor leaves, there's a soft knock on the door. I open it and find Avery standing there with our baby girl. "Hi, come in. there's someone I want you to meet." I say to him.
