Jefar’s POV
I watched her say goodbye to her family and a small group of her pack members. It was sad seeing them crying for her. I may be a sick son of a b***h but I have a small percentage of sympathy that I believe I can fake. I gave her all the time she needed and it was the only sentiment I had for her. My warriors carried her four suitcases as if they weighed nothing and I wonder what was in them since they looked fuller and were too many for my liking. However, I understood because women do not travel light. After saying her goodbyes, she came walking towards me then turned around facing backward to wave her hand at them and saying, “Jendayi, please tell the twins and Naunet what I have said to you.” What was that all about? I questioned myself. She joined us and walked our 40 minutes journey.
When we approach the exit point, she looked at me and said, “May I have five minutes before we leave?” I only nodded to her then took half of the men with me and left half of them with her along with my delta since my beta was coming with me. It took me few seconds watching her kneel on the ground and taking a lungful breath to calm herself. I was not interested in whatever she was going to do so I strode away. Everything was loaded on the Wranglers we hid before entering their world. “We need to hurry up because I don’t like being here anymore,” I told my men and got inside the car. ‘Damn, being mute was not nice and will never be.’ Negus my wolf whined. ‘I almost forgot about you.’ I teased him. ‘If we can communicate that means we are out of that place.’ Negus replied scornfully. I chose to ignore him because he will not stop chattering.
She came out through with the rest of my men and Walid told her to get inside the car I was sitting in, and then we drove off. It felt longer going back but I was glad we were now on the Cairo runway getting ready to board the plane. She looked stunned looking around. “Wow, this is the first time I see a plane in person. Is it yours?” she enquired still looking at her surroundings. I said yes and gestured for her to walk up the stairs. We went inside and took our seats. The pilot announced the departure and soon the plane took off. This is not some private jet but a normal plane because I did not want to waste money on luxury materials I would only use once or twice. The flight attendant served us snacks and beverages. I had my whiskey mixed with water, mm that is how I like it. ‘I heard your thoughts. Do you think your plan will work?’ Negus asked while licking his paw. ‘Oh my dear wolf, it will work just wait and see when we reach our final destination.’ I replied casually while watching Maat sleeping peacefully.
Three hours later, we landed at the Horn territory runway. I saw Tedros waking her up and wondering why was he is so tender with her, or maybe he wants her. “Too bad no one will have her as long as I am still alive,” I muttered to myself hoping that no one heard me. I walked out of the plane with the rest following me to the cars parked and waiting for me. “Your highness, your parents are waiting for your arrival and hoping to see the princess immediately,” Walid informed me, slightly bowing his head. The formalities only happen when we are with people but when it is just us, no need to be formal. I nodded my head and got inside the car. It took about thirty minutes to get to the kingdom. As soon as the car came to a halt, my parents walked towards the car and the door opened, I got out and then Maat followed behind.
I glanced at Taci, the she-wolf I normally have in my bed for stress relief was eyeing Maat in disdain. Maat is a beautiful woman and none of these she-wolves matches her. I smiled averting my gaze at my parents. “Mother, Father, this is Maat. Maat this is my mother and former Luna Queen Nuru Adakna and this is my father former Alpha King Kofi Adakna.” I introduced them to her. “It’s nice to finally meet you Alpha and Luna.” She confidently extended her hand greeting them. “It’s nice to meet you too princess but we are no longer in charge, you may call us with our names.” Mother chuckled waving her off. “Now we know why you took longer than you said you would. She is beautiful.” Father whispered, winking at me. I laughed because if only they knew what my plan is but then again, given how they were welcoming her, I doubt they will let me go through with it.
The warriors offloaded her suitcases taking them inside. I took out my hand for her to hold. “Shall we?” I faked a smile. We walked inside the castle and she had admiration in her eyes since it was the first time she sees a palace. “You have a beautiful home Jefar.” She complimented with a grin. I followed my parents to the sitting area; the housekeepers served us tea and fig bread. After our brief chat with my parents. “Princess I need to show you something,” I whispered to her holding her hand in mine and standing up. “If you will excuse us, I need to show Maat around,” I told my parents while walking with her out of the room.
I showed her the west wing where we will sleep and the east wing where my parents live. I briefly walked with her around the palace, but it was getting late and I mind linked the cooks to bring food into my bedroom. “Come, let’s go to bed, you are probably tired,” I said while we were walking. We got to the bedroom and found our food already placed on the table. “Let me go freshen up before eating.” She told me to go through her bag taking out her nightdress and gown with toiletries in a small bag. I looked at her disappearing through the bathroom door and closing it. ‘Are you thinking of getting some with her or are you still going to keep pretending?’ Negus snorted barking a laugh. 'Sorry to disappoint you but, I have better things in mind than that.’ I said to my selfish wolf. 'Suit yourself.' He grumbled going quiet and I chuckled.
She came out walking from the bathroom smiling. “Were you waiting for me to eat together?” she pointed her finger to the tray set for us on the table. “I felt like it was going to be rude eating on my own when we both traveled together,” I responded standing up from the bed and sitting on the chair next to her. We ate our food in awkward silence while watching her carefully thinking about how to put my plan in place. She was not a chatter thank goodness. She cleared her throat and I lifted my eyes to her. “When will I be introduced to your people?” she narrowed her eyes scrunching her nose. “Tomorrow,” I replied without care. She nodded nonchalantly even though I could see that she was thinking about something but somehow chose to keep whatever was on her mind to herself. After eating our food, she walked to the bathroom and I followed her. She took out her toothbrush and brushed her teeth. I leaned against the door watching her without saying a word to her. She finished and I let her pass through the door. I walked inside and locked the door to shower. I left the bathroom in my silky pyjamas finding her already asleep. ‘Look at her man. She is so beautiful.’ Negus waggled his tail. ‘You have smitten already. What is wrong with you, dog?’ I growled. He sprawled himself and ignored me.
When I was about to go join her on the bed. I heard a soft knock and I walked to the door, slightly opening it to see who it was. “Hi Alpha King, did you forget about me already?” The person said with a seductive voice. I harshly walked out of my room, grabbing her wrist painfully, shoving her in the next room, and closed the door. “Taci, what is wrong with you? You don’t just come to my room anymore; I will call you WHEN I need you.” Whisper yelling at her. This woman has the nerve of just showing up unannounced. I glare at her walking towards me and closing the distance between us. “I missed you Jefar and I don’t care about the woman in your bed. I should be your chosen one, not her.” Pleading with her eyes. I heaved a sigh. “You ruined that chance when you chose to f**k every trouser with a d**k in the kingdom and you can never be my chosen one... I will call you when I need a release, for now, I have plans to fulfill.” I opened the door and marched back to my room feeling annoyed. “Good, she is still sleeping,” I mumbled to myself while getting inside the duvet. ‘I thought you liked her or was I wrong?’ Negus asked coldly. I disregarded him and fell asleep.
It was 4:30 am when I opened my eyes glancing at the watch on the nightstand. I did not sleep much, kept tossing and turning all night. I turned my head to my side and she was still sleeping. I had an evil smile on my face thinking about executing my plan. There was a knock on the door and I slowly got out of the bed and walked to the door opening it. I grinned, “Is everything set?” I whispered to the four guards and they nodded walking through the room heading to the bed and grabbed the duvet throwing it on the floor, and dragging her off the bed. “What is the meaning of this Jefar?” I wanted to see the panic on her face instead I got confusion. “Sorry for disturbing your sleep but I couldn’t wait any longer. Just take her to the cell. Now!” I instructed the guards while smirking at her. She looked at me flabbergasted thinking of what is happening. “You sly bastard. You planned this all along.” She retorted spitting saliva on my feet. I did not answer nor look at her anymore. I started walking to the bathroom hoping that the guards will carry her away until I heard a grunt. I turned around to look what the sound was coming from and what I saw was something I did not expect.
