My hands shook as I tried with all my remaining strength to fight through the pain and commands as I watched Luna tremble on the thin mattress.
“Just focus on my eyes and do as she demands,” Luna whispered.
Her courage in this situation is admirable. I didn't want to do those things to Luna, but I felt like I had no choice. Silver would most likely demand a guard take over if I did not.
Luna’s eyes remained focused on mine as I followed her instruction and bent down on my knees, and placed my hand against her bare skin.
I held my gaze on hers and stayed motionless.
