5. Obsessed

CHAPTER FOUR

The way her curvy body moved seductively was stuck in my mind. All night long, she had been all I had been thinking about and I do not remember the last time I was this obsessed with a woman. Well, except for the time I was obsessed with Nicole.

“Are you okay?” I snapped out of my haze, meeting Dominic’s curious gaze. I glanced around, registering where I’m. Right. Just for a second there, I had slipped into my own world, relieving that f*****g dance. Every Saturday we spent the lunch together at one of Dominic’s hotels with mum and dad. Clearly I was here early and thankfully Dominic was here too.  Otherwise, I would have had to spend a couple of minutes alone but this time I would not have minded at all. As a matter of fact, the one thing I regretted was not being left just to sleep in on a Saturday afternoon so I would reminisce over that woman.      

“Yeah, I’m totally fine. Where is Nicky? “I questioned, glancing behind him. Usually, I would be a bunch of nerves about having to spend the rest of almost two hours with her but not today. Maybe because I was sort of struck by a certain sexy stripper which was so unlike me.

“She ran into a couple of fans on our way in,” He shrugged, giving me a guy hug before sitting down.

“Yeah, that new book has really racked her up the popularity chart,”

“She is still insecure about it. Most of the time she keeps thinking that she only gets the sales because she is married to me. To be honest, I have no idea how I can reassure her that this is all her hard work,” he sighed.

“Yeah, that is tough,”

“So how is working with Scarlett like? Still don’t like her?”

“Dude it’s only been a day and we haven’t really officially started working together. God! I can’t wait to fire her,”

Dominic laughed,” Yeah, I don’t think that is going to happen. You are going to want to keep her, trust me,”

“What are my two favorite Valiente men talking about?” Nicole purred sweetly as she walked over. I should not be staring at her but then she looked really breathtaking in that jumpsuit. Even the visible six months pregnant bum did not make her look any less attractive. Heck, I could have sworn I had never laid my eyes on a pregnant woman that sexy than her.  I had no idea how she always managed to pull on such looks.

 “When did I make it to your favorite list of people?” I questioned, hugging her. Wait, why am I not hypnotized by her scent like I usually I’m?”

“The baby told me to grant you access to my favorite people list and it seems the baby likes you,” she smiled, as she sat next to Dominic.

“Well, one more reason to name him after me,”

“Maybe it’s going to be a girl,” Dominic pointed out.

“No, it’s going to be a boy,” I argued back.

“And once again, boys, I’m the one with a baby in my womb,”

“Then do a gender reveal. I’m really dying,”

“Not happening. I know the baby’s gender and I know for sure that one of you is right. Enough about the baby, how is work, Reed?” She questioned.

“Well, big brother here hired a new CMO for me and she does not waste a second in getting under my skin. It’s pretty frustrating to be honest and more than half the time I want to blow her brains off and we’ve only interacted for about a total of under one hour,” I huffed.

“That sounds like my Dominic. Is this CMO someone I know?”  

“Well, if it rings a bell in Dominic’s dictionary then I bet it should ring a bell in yours. Scarlett Simpson,”

She gave me a blank stare,” Scarlett Simpson?”

“Don’t tell me that you have no idea who she is too,” Dominic huffed.

“Is she Taylor swift’s sister or Nick Bateman’s ex-girlfriend? Wait, is she related to the Jonas brothers?” Nicky raised an eyebrow in question.

“Of course not. She is one of the best of the CMOs in the fashion industry. I thought that since you two pretty much hang around Jade all the time, you’d know her,”

“Jade doesn’t even know her,” I pointed out. If she had known who she was she would not have wasted a second in telling me who she was. I swear that girl spoke nerd in fashion.

“Unbelievable,” Dominic muttered just loud enough for all of us to hear.

 Just then our parents walked into the hotel and well, the rest almost two hours was spent exchanging bits and pieces.  I was thankful that our family had grown much closer than ever right after I almost broke it apart for good.
