Chapter 8

Kane pov

Kane took Olivia out for pizza at a local joint that their family normally eats out at. That meant great conversation with the regulars. They sat at Joey’s pizza for about an hour before the two of them left before heading back to his place. Kane saw his sister text some one on her phone repeatedly.

“Who is it? Roselyn?” Kane asked her.

“No.. why? You been thinking about her?” Olivia asked him right back.

“No.” Olivia give him a look. “Maybe.” Kane knew it was Asher but thought it best to mention Liv’s roommate so he wouldn’t let his sister know that he knew. Kane also noticed that Liv was doing all the texting and she wasn’t getting a response. Ash was most likely had a chick in his lap at the moment. Kane opened the car door for his sister and then as he was walking to the opposite side pulled out his phone.

Kane texted his best friend Jax to let stop pestering Ash and let him proceed with his hook up. Kane drove the fifteen minutes to his place and his sister immediately went to his best friend Jax.

“Have you seen Ash?” Olivia asked him.

“I think he went to the bathroom,” Jax told her. Olivia went to the bathroom which is next to the bedrooms and low and belhold Ash stumbled out with one of the bunnies reeking of s*x.

“Olivia! I didn’t think you were coming tonight!” Ash said guiltily. Kane didn’t see his sisters face but he could see she was barely hanging on.

“Really? You couldn’t wait an hour until I got here?” Olivia turned to walk away.

“Wait-“

“Oh I hope you used protection . Madison sleeps with all the fighters, and has given at least two of them an STD.”

“That’s not true!” Madison screamed, by now they were drawing a crown and Kane watched a couple of guys duck their heads.

“Jamison! Really bro I thought you were smarter than that.” Kane called out.

“She told me she was clean!” Jamison came back with and Olivia laughed.

“Always wrap it up with your f*****g a bunny, especially right before a piss test,” Kane called out and it was clear Ash didn’t as his face went white. Olivia stomped off.

“Wait I’ll give you a ride,” Kane called after her.

“No, I’ll have Jax do it,” Olivia said and Jax dumped the woman off his lap to take his sister home. When they left Ash thought he could approach Kane.

“What the hell was that man?” The punk asked him. Kane turned a lethal look at him.

“You really thought I would let you sleep with my sister to further your career with Joe? Your out of your mind.”

“I actually liked your sister,” Ash told him.

“Oh yeah? Then why are you f*****g Madison?” Kane asked with a dry laugh. “It May surprise you but your not the first genius to come up with this plan, and you won’t be the last. I however, will always be there to protect her.” Kane looked at the bastard in the eye.

“I suggest you get a shot of antibiotics and start hitting the gym for a few more hours, not trying to f**k the coaches daughter. That would impress him more.” Kane said and walked away looking for his own entertainment for the night.

Roselyn pov

Rose sat at a table eating finger foods most of the night. When she met up with her parents her mother seemed to be pleased with her appearance. Her mother didn’t by any means compliment her, but she didn’t make any nasty comments like normal. Her father on the other hand gave her a big hug and told her how beautiful she looked.

Roselyn had spent the first hour of the event walking behind her parents being introduced to random people she didn’t know. Finally her father told her that the buffet looked mighty tasty, that was the all clear and Roselyn took off. She had been sitting at a table on her phone ever since.

“Mrs. Cunningham it’s so great to see you again,” Roselyn turned in horror to see Scott and his parents approach her mother with open arms.

“Oh! Mr. And Mrs. Donovan it’s good to see you here!” Her mother replied. That was the worst part, during the incident her mother thought she was just over exaggerating. She didn’t believe her, her father did and Rose would forever love him for that. He was looking at her worriedly and she couldn’t help but smile tightly at him.

After the incident at prom her mother didn’t want to be embarrassed any further so when her father wanted to go to the police her mother threatened him with divorce. Rose intervened and told her father it was ok and that there was only two weeks of school left and that she would be okay.

The matter was never mentioned again.

Rose felt when Scott sat next to her, but she didn’t acknowledge him. Then as if she was watching her very own horror movie all of the adults decided to sit down at the table with the two of them. The conversation was flowing well between the adults, but Rose just ignored it. Scott was also trying to get her attention, she simply kept her attention focused on the wall across the way.

“Well the thing is Roselyn is my son is looking for a tutor, I know you tutored him in high school. Would you do it again?“ Mrs. Davidson asked her pulling her into the conversation she wasn’t listening to. Roselyn looked to Scott who had a large smile on his face as did her mother. s**t. There is no way she’s getting out this.

“Sure, my rate is twenty dollars an hour,” Rose said flatly. There was silence at the table before Scott spoke up,

“That’s what the university tutors charges, that sounds fair.” His father however raised his hand as if batting a fly away.

“You wouldn’t charge your friend would you?” Mr. Davidson asked with a charming smile trying to intimidate her. Rose quickly looked at everyone at the table, even her father was silent and that hurt the most.

“Scott isn’t my friend, please excuse me.”

Roselyn quickly stood up and left the room. She quickly walked back to her dorm where she expected to binge watch the Witcher for the rest of the night. Rose was shocked to find Olivia not only in their room but crying.

“Hey! I didn’t expect to see you back so soon,” Olivia said trying to stop her tears.

“I didn’t expect you to be here either. What happened?” Rose asked as she sat on the floor next to her new and only friend.

“Oh nothing,” Olivia tried shrugging her off, but Rose stared her down. It only took a few minutes of silence before Olivia broke down and told Rose the whole story.

“I am so mad at all of them!” Olivia said out of frustration.

“Can I say something?” Rose asked and Olivia nodded.

“Now I don’t know what the deal is with your mom, but I can’t help but be jealous of your family.” Rose said and could tell Olivia was surprised by her response.

“Who helped you move in to the dorm?” Rose asked.

“My family,” Olivia responded.

“My parents sent me on the train and didn’t call for a week. I haven’t even seen my sister in like two years,” Rose stated.

“You have a sister?” Olivia asked and Rose nodded.

“She’s like ten years older than me and she never had time for me. She’s super smart like my dad. She went to Yale and met her husband out there. She got married five years ago and they came home to visit one time.” Rose thought about her older sister for another minute and sighed.

“I understand what Kane did was not cool, but he was just being protective. I had to sit at a table tonight with Scott and our parents where they asked me to tutor him again because we were such great parents.”

“They didn’t!” Olivia asked outraged and Rose nodded.

“I’m sorry that Ash guy didn’t like you back, but men suck in general,” Rose said with a tear falling down her eye. Olivia’s eyes started to water as well,

“They really do.”

“Let’s do what we do best and watch some fictional men while eating ice cream,” Rose suggested. Livy couldn’t even muster up a smile, she just nodded sadly. Rose turned on the Witcher and grabbed some junk food.
