Knocking on the door. William woke up with a start. The sun was barely up and he felt dead. “What?” he asked still trying to get feeling in his limbs, he struggled to move. The knock came again. “I hear you, Satan,” he said and managed to roll out of bed. He was sure he paid the rent this month, he had no idea who else it would be this early. The idea that it was the police was on the edges of his tired mind. He moved to the door and put his shirt on before answering it. He could barely see anything.
