10 I could have called in sick, like Delia had suggested, but it didn’t feel right. I did like my job, it was one thing in my life I was good at. Besides, I hadn’t lied to them. It wasn’t as if I could lie down in bed and sleep, not after all that had happened the last couple of days. Being in the tea shop would make me at least partially busy, and for a few hours, I would forget about the box, the vampire, and the witch’s murder, along with the murder of my parents and Killian’s brother. After stopping by my apartment, and entering with care to make sure no one was hiding in there this time, taking a nice, hot shower, and changing to clean jeans and tee, I arrived at the tea shop a little earlier than usual.
