Chapter 9 IssuesWE ENTERED the elevator and because it was crowded I could not help but cling to him. I frowned as I looked up at the light above as if the tortoise was slow when moving a number. How he almost hugged me because the people next to me were all men. I do not know if I will breathe or shut up due to extreme nervousness. I also heard his heavy exhalation as he bent over me. When the elevator finally opened I was able to breathe properly. We went straight to the office and we were immediately welcomed. Dawzon and the Attorney stood up when they saw us. "Good morning Mr. Fuentes and?" he looked at me. "Cherry – Cherry Mae Banaag" I introduced myself as Dawzon reached out to me. "Oh I forgot... I'm sorry," he said. "Its okay Mr. Del'torre." Calixto, who was looking at our hand, caught our attention. So I withdrew my hand and smiled slightly. "Good morning!" Calixto's Attorney also greeted us. "Please sit down." Embarrassed, I stepped aside from Calixto. "Mr. Del'torre, my client wants to clarify the spreading issue about the vocalist of the band you are handling. The media is always harassing my client's resto-bar where Miss. Banaag and also work. My complainant Mr. Fuentes. " Introduction of the Attorney to us. Dawzon curved his lips. It is undeniable that Rexon is his brother even though he is a little masculine have a dark skin compared to Rexon who is a bit pale in color. "First, I want to apologies personally to Mr. Fuentes ang Miss. Banaag for the damage we had been caused, especially about the Issue of third-party." Dawzon said. "It would be better for us not to extend the issue about the false news that is spreading now," he said to the attorney who was watching. I clasped my palms as Calix turned to me. "Regarding the issue about Miss. Banaag and Rexon, it would be better for Rexon to answer that – Oh, he is already here," he said. His gaze focused on our back. We almost turned around at the same time wearing Gray longsleeve and bleach jeans. He was also wearing sunglasses which were immediately taken off as soon as he entered. "Good morning!" His wide smile but immediately faded when he saw me. So, I quickly averted my eyes from him. "So by the way, Rexon and his band have a presscon today. So he can answer all the questions coming from the perspective reporters," Dawzon continued to tell us. "Wait – what is this? Why are they here?" Suddenly I looked up at him as if shocked by what had happened. "I'm Attorney Santos, and my client Mr. Fuentes and–" "I don't care who they are, what I'm asking is, what are you doing here?" He cut to the speaking lawyer who looked at me again. I suddenly leaned on the couch because of his deep voice even how he stared at me now. I want to answer him with a rebuke because of the rudeness of his mouth. "Excuse me Mr. Del'torre, I don't think it's right for you to talk to my lawyer like that." Calixto's words here. "Then who are you?" This answer to Calixto does not seem to hold back. He was about to speak but Dawzon stopped him when he raised his hand in the air. "Rex, they just want you to clarify the Issue about the fight you were involved in at the Calixto's Bar the Restaurant. And the damage we've been causing to Mr. Fuentes the Miss. Banaag." Dawzon explain patiently. "The hell with that. The reporters wrote it before. They're accusing me of having an affair with that woman." His gaze deepened on me. I clenched my fists because of the way he looked at me and how he let go of that word. "Even the third party Issue that they should not have raised!" He added. "That's why my client is here to fix the Issue. Reporters hardly leave their Bar. And Miss. Banaag is needed to take an absent just to escape those pathetic reporters. Even their work has been affected." Attorney's explanation. "First, I did not spread such news. I just helped. And it's not my problem anymore." He darted his gaze at me again. "Then, clarify the Issue about you and Cherry so that reporters can let her go." Dawzon again. Shortness of breath. "Alright." He did not look back at us and went straight out of the room. "I'm sorry for what Rexon did, because he hasn't slept since last Gig." "We understand Mr. Del'torre." Calix answered. They talked for a while about the Issue and eventually ended up in a business matter that I knew I had nothing to do with. It's good that Dawzon's secretary added juice and cake so that's all I focused on. It's time for Logistic's presscon for their upcoming album. I want to hear his explanation and how he will answer the Issues being thrown at him. I sat in the farthest corner of the room where I was not paying much attention. I glanced at Calixto who was still talking to Dawzon who was on the edge of the stage while looking up at the rows of groups. My gaze returned to the stage. They just finished singing and are now preparing for the press questions. "You can now ask some questions regarding their up coming album," said the event host. "Yes please..." He pointed to a media that raised his hand. "Many are asking about the launch of your album. When will the big concert be?" The reporters starts asking some questions. "Actually we're still looking forward for our next project which is out of the country tour. And If we have giving an opportunity then why not, but for now we enjoyed our Gig and Mall shows." Jeff answered. "How about your home coming event, When do you plan to do it? Is there an exact date?" another media asked. " Once we finalize the schedule for this month, we will release the date." Rexon said. "Mr. Rexon Del'torre, how about your rumored girlfriend? Was she invited to the home coming event at your school?" he asked. Immediately some of the press whispered that he made a little noise in the function hall. I, on the other hand, was suddenly nervous about the answer. "I just want to clarify I don't have a girlfriend yet... Right now," he clarified then he smiled broadly. The whispering around became louder again so some press got the opportunity to ask more questions. "How about the news about the third party issue you got involved?" "No, it wasn't true," he replied and just shook his head at them. "How about the girl you depend on last time at the resto-bar. Everyone thinks she's your girlfriend?" My chest immediately throbbed when Rexon and I met eyes. "Actually, she's my P.A... My Personal Assistant," he said with a wide smile. He even pointed me out of my seat so the reporters turned to me at the same time. I immediately leaned back in my seat and was unable to speak. "What?" I almost drowned in my seat.
