Chapter 7 Scorching bodyI WENT OUT of the bathroom and found him sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed. I hesitated a few times before I sneezed as he opened his eyes.
"Want some autograph on that?" He began to let out a foreign smile.
"No thanks," I said sarcastically.
"It's up to you," he said then shrugged at me before standing up.
"In the other room you can go to sleep first, I'll just deliver you tomorrow."
"No, I'm going home. It looks like our followers are gone," I replied.
He stared into my eyes for a moment before finally smiling.
"Do you think I can do anything bad to you?" His lips curve a bit. He stepped closer to me.
"I've never said that," I said high on my forehead but deep inside my muscles were shaking with nervousness.
"Hmm... But that's not what your eyes says?" It took another step. He's too close that I could feel his scorching body on mine.
I stood still without my unblinking eyes. My heart raced and my knees starts melting. Damn! Why does he affect me like this?!
His hand reach up and slowly caressed the strands of my hair. He gently pulled it out and hung it behind my ear.
I could do nothing but turn a blind eye to the thought that he still had work to do. But a few moments later nothing happened.
I looked up quickly and the playful smile on his lips opened up to me.
"See?" he said while arms crossed against his chest.
My cheek turned redder as I cleared my throat. I took a moment to adjust to the posture.
"What do you think of me as easy to get? 'Besides, you are not my type!" I said sarcastically.
"Relax, you are not my type of woman either," he turned around and smiled at me again.
I just rolled up my eyes to hide my disappointments. But the truth is it quickly hit my ego.
"I'll take you home."
I haven't said anything since he turned his back on me. I was left staring at the door he left.
*****
I go early to the work tonight.
"Psst..." Jacky called to me and I turned to her.
"How are you? How many days have you been absent?" She slumped on the table after I passed her.
"I can't do anything. Calix is the one who wants me not to go in first," I replied, moving to the other table to continue wiping.
"In fairness to Calixto, very supportive, huh?" Shele looked at me after leaning back in her chair.
"If it was just me, I wouldn't want to be absent because I need money."
"Eh, what is this p*****t for the day you did not work?" Her eyebrows rose as I turned around.
"I have never heard of such a thing," I replied and moved on to another table.
"Hmm... Look at your pay-slip at the end, huh?" She laughed a little before turning her back on me.
I was shaken to go back to work because the Bar would open in a few minutes.
"Cherry! Cherry!" I quickly turned to the voice that called to me.
"Oh, Fernan why are you in a hurry?"
"There are reporters out there looking for you!"
Suddenly my forehead furrowed at what he said. Eventually sighed.
"No one will let them in, leave it to the bouncer and security!" I turned to Calixto who suddenly spoke next to me.
"Yes, boss..." Then Fernan turned his back on us.
"Good evening, Sir!" I remember here trying to get back to what I was doing when I spoke again.
"Is your issue with that vocalist still not over?" He spoke seriously and stared at me intently.
"I'm sorry, I did not know this would happen." I bowed my head.
He shook his head. "I will talk to his manager regarding this issue tomorrow morning. I want you to come with me to clear things up. I will also include my lawyer. The reporters can't always be here." He stared into my eyes that I could not avoid.
"I'm sorry... I don't want you to have any more problems. Rexon and I talked and he said he would fix this."
"Then he must do... I don't want to hear anything again from the media." He glared stonily at me.
"I'm really sorry, Sir." I know he does not want to involve his name in the issue, especially since I am linked to him.
He just nodded at me then turned around and went straight to his office.
*****
Clalix stayed at his office all night. He's often the one who manages the mini-bar to provide drinks that he did not make today.
"Are talk to Calixto?" Jacky leaned over me while waiting for the order I asked for.
"Earlier," I answered sparingly.
"And – what did he say?"
"He said he would talk to the Logistic's manager and take me with him tomorrow," I said, bowing to the table.
"I mean, is the issue between the two of you? I think Calixto is affected."
She was right we hadn't even talked about that. I still didn't have time apologize for that.
"I will take it to table 3 and this Juice you will bring to Calix," she said after smiling broadly at me.
I could do nothing when she turned around so I just followed her with my gaze. I turned to the glass of juice that the bartender had lowered to me.
"Thank you for this, Yul..."
He just nodded at me when I picked it up and went straight to Calixto's office.
I knocked softly before I heard his voice.
"Come in..."
I turned the lock and peeked slightly into the open door. "Sir, here's your juice." My introduction.
He paused for a moment before speaking. "Come in, Cherry." He looked back at the papers on the table.
Upon entering, I quietly laid down what I was carrying on his desk and did not leave first. I just watch him do what he does.
A few moments later he looked up at me when I was still in front of him.
