It took a thousand sheep to count before sleep finally favored Aloida. It was past midnight already when she had fallen asleep. Thoughts about Lexandro and Alexus made her mind work so tirelessly and continuously that even when she closed her eyes and forced herself to sleep, she just couldn’t. Nonetheless, she still woke up early the next day. Thanks to her body clock and her alarm clock as well. She got up and made chicken sandwiches. She also cooked a macaroni salad, based on her mother’s recipe, which she learned when she was in her high school days. She added a honey-glazed chicken to complete the food package that she would be bringing to her boss. When she arrived at the office, she was surprised to see a bouquet of white and pink roses on top of her executive desk. Her smile fade
