CHAPTER FOURTula saw Lord Yelverton fall into the cascade and jumped to her feet with a cry of horror.
She held her breath as she watched his body hurtling down the foaming water into the pool below.
He was whirled around and then out onto the fall at the end of it where the waves rose and fell until finally they subsided into a swift current winding between green banks glowing with water hyacinths.
It was then that she started to run, stumbling over the rocks and boulders, slipping and once or twice falling onto her knees before finally she was level with Lord Yelverton who was floating, his face downwards and his arms outstretched that kept him on the surface.
