(Tommy)
Damnit, this girl was infuriating! I didn't expect that she could throw back more attitude my way with all the sh.it I gave her. Even after she patched me up. I wanted to keep her safe, but she wasn't allowing me to even get close to her. I know she ignored my last texts because they still read 'sent'. I decided to reach out one more time, looking at the clock. She should be on her way back to the villa.
T: A little fear can go a long way...
M: (rolling my eyes) Your scare tactics are getting old.
T: You won't have the chance to get old if you keep this up.
M: Yeah. Right.
T: You are so...
M: Much smarter than you? :)
T: ANNOYING! You're ANNOYING!
M: Then why are you still texting me?
T: Professional reasons. I'll see you at home... Baby girl.
There, that should keep her on her toes, and even though it was a text, I'd have to punish her for rolling her eyes. I communicated with the chef to prepare something that would be both delicious and easy on the stomach. Opting for a flavorful salad with a variety of fresh veggies, grilled chicken, and a light vinaigrette dressing seemed like the perfect choice. I heard the car pull up and took a quick look out the window to see Bull holding the car door open and Maria stepping out. I made her night hell, but hopefully this dinner would show her I meant well. After all, I wasn't expecting the Russian mob to be hanging around her work. That's the whole reason why I came crashing through the glass door.
The front door opened and in walked Maria. She didn't come to the dining room where I was standing, instead she went straight upstairs to her room. I know because she slammed the damn door. The arrogance of this girl! I sat and ate my dinner alone. If she did get hungry, she would come downstairs on her own. I was well finished with my dinner. I wiped my mouth with my napkin hoping she would come down, but she still hadn't shown her face at the table.
As I reflected on the situation, I couldn't help but ponder why she was behaving so arrogantly and why she chose to ignore me. These questions swirled in my mind, fueling a sense of frustration and anger. Perhaps her behavior stemmed from a place of insecurity or defensiveness, causing her to put up a facade of arrogance. I knew she was dealing with personal issues that made her distant and unresponsive. Regardless of the reasons behind her actions, her behavior had a profound impact on my emotions, leaving me feeling dismissed and disregarded.
I climbed the stairs, heading to the other end of the hallway where Maria's room was. I noticed Bull sitting on a chair across from her room. I waved my hand, motioning for him to follow me to my office. Once inside, I sat at my desk, taking a deep breath before talking.
"What has she been doing?" I asked. I wasn't sure why I was asking. She was my property after all, yet I've never come across any woman to treat me the way she has. Women usually fall at my feet... or in my bed. "She's been sitting in her room. I've offered to escort her to the dining room twice, and she refused both times. She said, and I quote 'I won't eat with a stuck-up snob'." Bull said, casually. So she thought I was stuck-up, huh? I'll show her. "See if she wants to, I don't know, have a girls night with her friends at one of my clubs, just don't tell her I own it." I offered. Bull nodded his head and left my office. If she thinks I'm stuck-up, let's see how she does when she finds out the real me.
(Maria)
I knew something was up the moment Bull pulled up to the mansion. He got out pretty quickly and pulled open my door. I wasn't expecting Tommy to be waiting in the dining room with dinner. It smelled amazing, but I needed to keep my composure. I wasn't going to let his smooth dinner skills get to me, so instead, I headed upstairs to my room. Once inside, I slammed the door shut, burring my face in my pillow. He just didn't know when to quit. I mean the man held a gun to my face today and broke a door, and I'm still shaking.
I got up and began pacing in my room. Hell I can't say this is my room because it's not my home and my room was taken from me. A few hours past and I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door slightly and saw Tony there. I still don't know why he prefers the name 'Bull' over Tony. Tony suits him better. "Yes, can I help you?" I asked. "You have friends, right?" He asked. What kind of question is that? "Of course I have friends, why wouldn't I?" I said. "Well, boss is allowing you to have a girls' night, if you would like to go hang out with some of the girls. I know a few good clubs," Tony said. I could use this to my advantage. My twenty-first birthday is literally in two days, and it will be the weekend.
"Sure i'm game. I'll call some of my friends up. They can help celebrate my day with me." I said, and shut the door in his face. I grabbed my phone and texted Elaine to see if she would like to hang out for my birthday. I would make it a night to remember, just me and Elaine. Because let's be honest, I didn't have many friends. I was always too busy caring for my mom or working at my jobs. I sent her a text, and almost immediately she responded.
E: What's up?
M: It's my birthday in two days. Want to go clubbing with me?
E: I maybe a little too old for that, but for you, I would love to.
M: Great, there's a club I've been dying to go to called LUX.
E: I'm game, I heard it's a 'popping' place.
I put my phone down excited for my birthday for once in my life. It would be a night of fun, drinking, and dancing. What could go wrong?
