~ Back to the present day for the book ~ …Six years later… Roman My palm slicked against my damp forehead. Another night, another intense dream that I had no recollection of, only that things took a while to deflate in a cold shower. A week of them, and counting, I felt like some hormonal adolescent wolf male in a rut at the first scent of a she-wolf in heat. Not that I’d ever been in a rut – it sounded unappealing to have such a lack of control over myself. ‘Gimme five more minutes with our subconscious,’ Ransom purred, lingering in the waning ecstasy that he couldn’t remember either. Whatever the cause of the dreams, it shut his growls up for a time in the morning, better than a night nursing a bottle of tequila ever did. ‘It also helps that you’re keepin’ your d**k outta things.’
