They were done eating lunch it was already one pm they made sure everything was in order Richard removed the box used to keep the pistols and arranged the pistols and bullets and placed them in the vehicle under the seats.
"Before we go hope everything is in order we are going for a very dangerous mission," Richard said
"Everything is in order let's start our journey to Kisumu," Jack said.
"Let's hurry, we need to rent the house to rent for us to stay as we investigate where Johnson was kept by the kidnappers," Daisy said.
"That is true let's hurry," Richard said.
They drove reaching the Jericho shopping center a lorry obstructed them they overheard people talking about the stranger who saved the village.
"Let's take our time and listen to the people's conversation" Becky suggested.
"OK let's listen," Richard said.
Jack lowered the windows of the land rover to listen.
"Where are the strangers coming from they saved the village from the hands of the ruthless bandits," Remy one of the villagers said.
"They were five two ladies three men with very sophisticated pistols, they shot the bandits injuring them" Jimmy responded.
"And where are the strangers coming from?" Remy asked.
"No one has the idea, maybe they are government commandos" Jimmy retorted.
"I wish I knew where they are coming from, we could have given them a gift," Remy said.
"They are not from the government if they were from the government they could have waited for the police," Remy said.
"Let's go I am glad they don't know where we are staying," Richard said.
Jack drove the Landrover to Kisumu on their way they were stopped by the traffic police.
"Can I assume them?" Jack asked.
"No, we already have all the papers required on the road to avoid suspicion stop the vehicle" Richard advised.
Jack stopped the car the police officer came.
"Where is your driving license" the Police lady requested.
He checked on the driving license and it was valid, also checked on the insurance and NTSA sticker all were in order. instead of letting them go, she kept quiet.
"Give her a hundred shillings," Richard told Jack.
Jack removed a hundred shillings and handed them over to the police.
"No, drop it on the road," The police lady said.
"Do it quickly we want to go" Richard advised Jack.
Jack dropped the hundred shillings the police lady allowed them to go.
"You mean you don't know how the police should be done for them to allow you to do your business in Kericho?" Daisy asked.
"This is my first time in Kericho I have never been before but it's not right," Jack said.
"Do it for them after all it's a meager amount" Richard advised.
They drove through Ahero to Kisumu city as they drove they saw the beautiful scenery of the Nandi hills.
"Where is that place with hills," Jack asked.
"It's Nandi hills" Becky responded.
They drove fast as they approached Kisumu city the weather became hotter.
"It's hot here, unlike Kericho weather it's very cold," Becky said.
"It's hot it's good that we are not going to freeze like in Kericho, it seems we will not have any problem like in Kericho suffering from the common cold," Jack said.
"Who knows where we can get a house where it's secluded?" Richard asked.
"Who has traveled here before?" Richard asked.
"I have traveled here before let me show you where we can get a house which is secluded," Daisy said.
"Let's go straight to the port Victoria I have friends who are guards Manning the gate" Daisy reiterated
They drove from the town center to the central business district to the lake. At a distance, they could see a lake.
"Let's drive directly to the lake," Daisy said.
Jack drove past the town towards the lake to the abandoned railway station.
"This place is known as Lwangni people normally come to the lake for sightseeing," Daisy said.
"It's a nice place but it's going to be demolished for the Kisumu port Victoria to be expanded," Daisy said.
They saw people doing business with others are on the hotel built on the lake where you can enjoy the breeze of the lake while enjoying eating fish.
They drove to the port Victoria gate they found guards Manning at the gate.
Jack parked the vehicle at the parking area and went to the gate, they found guards Manning at the gate.
"Where is Paul the man in charge of the port," Daisy asked the guards.
"He is at the ship at the lakeside" Guard responded.
"Can we see him please?" Richard said.
"Yes you register here and leave your IDs and go to that ship" Guard said
They registered and went towards the abandoned ship they met the person in charge of the ship standing at the entrance of the ship.
"My name is Daisy we need to see the man in charge of the port Victoria" Daisy said.
"My name is victor the person in charge of the port Victoria is inside the ship taking around the visitors" Victor responded.
"Can we see him please" Richard requested?
"Yes let me call him" Victor replied as he rushed inside the ship.
"People are charged thirty shillings for them to see the inside of the ship," Daisy said.
"You can see it's written on the notice board" Daisy explained as she pointed.
Victor came with the man in charge of the port Victoria, a fat man with muscle.
"Here is Samson the man in charge of the port Victoria" Victor said.
"My name is Samson the person you are looking for" Samson roared.
Richard laughed when he heard the voice.
"Pleasure meeting you where are you from?" Samson asked.
"We are from Kericho" Jack responded.
"My name is Richard here are Jack Daisy Becky and Derrick" Richard introduced all of them.
"I like people from Kericho they are swift in their dealings" Samson reiterated.
Richard was happy she heard what Samson said.
"I know one of you Daisy used to come here with her colleagues from the Kisumu medical college" Samson reiterated.
"That is true this is the right place to visit when with visitors I have brought you other visitors" Daisy retorted.
"How can I help you?" Samson asked.
"We need a secluded house where we can have privacy far away from other houses," Richard said.
"Don't worry provided you pay me monthly a small fee" Samson said.
"Don't worry we will do that" Derrick said.
"Do you have a vehicle port Victoria is a wide area house you require is far from here" Samson reiterated.
"Let me go and bring the vehicle it's outside the gate," Jack said.
Jack hurried to where the vehicle is past the gate.
"Have you met Samson?" Guard asked.
"Yes he said I take the vehicle inside the port Victoria," Jack said.
Jack drove the car inside the port Victoria to where Samson and his colleagues were.
They all boarded the vehicle.
"This way" Samson gave direction.
They drove for about a kilometer, they found secluded houses abandoned for years but the houses were in good condition.
They alighted from the vehicle and went towards the house Samson opened the door.
"These houses are in good conditions with electricity and piped water" Samson reiterated.
They entered the one of houses the houses had several rooms.
"Which of the house would you like to stay in?" Samson asked.
"At the far end, we need a house where all the rooms of the house are on one roof and we can share a sitting room," Richard said.
They checked the house it was exactly what they wanted.
"This one is the perfect house we needed," Jack said.
Richard walked around the house to check if there was an opening the house was in perfect condition.
"The compound also is good, you can sightsee the lake and we can have our privacy," Becky said.
Samson handed them a key to the house.
"Let me go and bring some workers of the port Victoria to come and clean the house for you to stay in a cleaned environment" Samson reiterated.
"OK, sir we are waiting for them to come and tidy the house" Richard replied.
Samson rushed to call the cleaners of the port Victoria as Richard and his colleagues went to the shores of Lake Victoria for sightseeing.
The workers arrived they cleaned the house quickly as Richard and his colleagues observed the waves of the lake moving and hitting the bank of the lake.
This is a very beautiful place to stay, with beautiful scenery of the lake, fresh air refreshing wind, and a rocky place where you can sit and see the lake" Daisy said.
The cleaners finished their work and returned to their workplaces.
"Let's go back and arrange the weapons in a save place," Jack said.
They rushed to the vehicle and removed the weapons and took them inside the house to avoid being spotted.
Richard realized the floor of the house was made of timber he observed keenly.
"In one of the bedrooms there is a place we can keep the weapons," Richard said.
They took the weapons inside.
"Here on the floor there is a hollow we can hide the weapons here," Richard said.
"That is a good place let's do it quickly," Jack said.
They kept the weapons and moved around the house they saw the house was well furnished and everyone could have his or her room.
