“Well Miss Ava, let’s see those vitals” the doctor took my arm and started taking my blood pressure. I could see he had a frown on his face.
“What’s wrong doctor? I’m recovering well, right?” I asked him trying to get him to tell me what was going on.
“Yes, you are” he said. He grabbed a chair and sat on it “I wanted to wait for you to get better because I have some news. They’re not good”.
“Please doctor, you’re scaring me here” I said trying to hurry him up and give me the news.
“You were...pregnant. But the baby didn’t make it” he said at the same time Enzo was coming in. He froze and I could see his face. Anger, sadness and guilt.
“What did you say?” Enzo said walking over. The doctor couldn’t repeat it and just stood up and left giving us space.
