Enzo's Secret

Before I went home, I decided to stop by Luciano’s house to pick up the purse I had left there before the wedding. After my brother died, I took over the family business. I had men under my command and I learned how to lead them thanks to dad. Dad arrived at the hospital to visit Piper and he stayed there for a while. I was exhausted so I decided it was time for me to go.
I was heading over to the guest room when I noticed the basement door was open. I headed downstairs and saw Enzo cleaning the guns. He had his leather jacket off and had a black V-neck shirt that hugged his muscles perfectly. He was perfection on a man.
I got closer to the table he was working at and greeted him with a flirtatious smile “Hi again”
He looked up at me with a serious look. “What are you doing here?” he asked turning back to what he was doing. I didn't like to be ignored.
“I came to pick up my purse. I left it in the guest room” I replied getting closer to him “the baby is beautiful, don’t you think?”
“She is, very beautiful. She reminds me of someone very important to me” he shrugged.
“Who?” I asked curiously but got no answer. I later rubbed his arm gently “Enzo I meant what I said earlier, if you're still thinking about not having someone in your life, please don’t. You deserve happiness”
“I told you I don’t want that. So please just go home”
“But-“ I started talking back, but he didn't let me finish.
He suddenly pushed me against the wall and held me there. I opened my eyes wide, surprised at his outburst. “Please Ava, just go. I don’t want to talk about this. I want to be alone” he said, his face just a couple of inches from mine. Almost kissing.
He pulled away and went back to the table. “And Please close the door when you leave”. I nodded and walked out. I decided to drive back to my house.
I had arrived a few minutes later and the guards greeted me. “Miss Rivera, the prisoner requested to see you,” he said. I let out a groan, what did this fool want now?
I went downstairs where he was locked in and stood in front of the cell. “Did you want to see me?” I asked coldly.
“Yes honey, I just want to get out of here. I can help you, we can be partners. It’s been almost a year since I’ve been locked down here, you are treating me worse than an animal” Kyle mentioned.
“You should be grateful I’m feeding you and keeping you clean. Don’t you dare ask me to let you out or even work with me. You have done so much to my sister and you need to pay”
“I paid enough! Your sister cut my hand! Now I have this stupid plastic hand on me!” he yelled before turning his back on me. And then I hear an evil laugh coming from him “I bet you don’t know your friend's secret”
“What are you talking about?” I narrowed my eyes and got closer to the cell.
“I am talking about Enzo. Luciano is covering a secret for his right-hand man. And if you let me out I can help you find who ruined his life” he said smirking.
“What kind of secret can Enzo have?” I asked curiously.
“You might want to ask him yourself. Ask him what happened to his family” he turned around and laid on the bed. I scoffed, letting out a deep breath before walking out of there.
Enzo had a family? What could have happened to them? I had to find out and I would make sure Kyle told me who did it.
Enzo
I was on my way to the hospital to pick up Luciano and Piper. They were discharging her and the baby. When I arrived they were already outside waiting for me.
“Don’t you know you aren’t supposed to be out in the open like that” I scolded Luciano.
“Don’t worry, the worst enemy I have is dead, and I got the guys watching the perimeter” Luciano replied.
“Your husband deserves a good beat down” I told Piper while she laughed, putting Eliana in the car seat. “Good luck with that, he’s as stubborn as a mule” she replied.
Arriving at the house, Ava and her dad were waiting by the stairs along with Martina who was the most excited about having a new member in the family. She helped raise Luciano since he was born and having a new baby brought her joy.
After all the fuzz, Luciano and Piper went upstairs to their room. To be honest they need a lot of rest. That is if the baby let them. I know my little Sofia wouldn’t let me and Melissa sleep at all. Oh but how I loved them, they were the light of my life. I just wish I could find them.
“Enzo, are you okay?” Ava said pulling me out of my thoughts. “Yes, I’m fine. Just exhausted” I replied.
“I need to talk to you, but it can’t be here. Can’t you stop by my house tonight?”
“Ava there’s nothing to talk about”
“It is important, and you would want to listen to it. Tonight, my house” she demanded walking out, getting into the car and driving away.
Later that night I drove to Ava’s house. The guards were standing there and almost stopped me when Ava’s housekeeper came out and let me in. A smirk showed on my face, a thing the guards didn’t like but they had no choice but to agree with it.
She led me to the studio where Ava would be. “Miss Ava should be down in a minute,” she said closing the door behind her. I stayed there looking around the studio. There were pictures of Ethan with Ava and Piper. But the studio had a feminine touch, and it didn’t look half bad.
“Thank you for coming,” Ava said coming in through the door.
“I’m here. What were you going to tell me?” I said, wanting her to be quick about it.
“There’s something you should know” she said leaning against the desk “I know about your secret”
My blood boiled and I gave her a deathly look. She seemed unfazed by it. “How did you know? Who told you?” I asked, closing in on her.
“It doesn’t matter who told me. What’s that secret you’re holding Enzo? What really happened to your family?” That was the drop that spilled the glass. I leaned closer, putting one hand on each side of her on the desk.
“I don’t seem to recall it being any of your business. My secret is that, a secret. No one knows”
“How come Luciano does? I can help you Enzo. I can help you find your family” she said looking straight at my eyes.
“Listen to me Piccola. You better start worrying about your own things. And stop meddling on other people’s life” I said in a low, threatening voice holding her face roughly.
“I care for you Enzo. What happened to that man that saved me? The one that took care of me while I was hurt? If this secret is hurting you so bad, share it with me. Release your burden. I can help you find them. My brother had contacts and they’re under my orders now” she said pulling my hand off her face.
“There’s no helping me. I don’t even know where they are. It’s been five years and I can’t even f*****g find them!!!” I yelled making her wince.
Truth is, I wasn’t going to let Ava face the danger that comes with finding my family. She was not going to be in the middle of it.
