“Did you really offer to help him? What about your feelings for him?” Piper asked me while breastfeeding Eliana.
I was visiting Luciano and Piper in their house and I was telling her everything that happened with Enzo yesterday.
“I just want him to be happy. Right now, I have to focus on finding his family and leading my men” I replied taking a sip of my red wine.
“What about your happiness? You two seemed to be close. I was even hoping you two would be together” she said worried about me.
“I guess it was just wishful thinking. I really don’t know what will happen. I guess we’ll find out as time passes by” I shrugged.

After a day of chatting and bonding with little Eliana and Piper, I drove home. As soon as I got there, my housekeeper walked outside to meet me and she looked a like distressed.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her worriedly.
“There’s a man waiting for you in the studio. He says he wants to talk to you” she said,
I went inside and indeed there was a man I didn’t even know on the couch. “Can I help you?” I asked cautiously. You can never trust anyone in this business. I learned that from my brother.
“I heard you’re looking for a woman and her child” he said with a smile plastered on his face.
“How did you know?” I asked curiously. I left the door open with a couple of my men waiting out in the hall.
“A little bird told me, your men are looking all over for them. You’re helping Enzo aren’t you?”
“If it’s true what you’re saying, I need to know where they are and who took them”.
“I took them. They've been living just across the town all this time. I used to work for Enzo before and the bastard betrayed me, so I decided to pay him the same way. Hit him where it hurts. His wife thinks he’s dead so she fell in love with someone else and got married” he mentioned standing up and handing me a piece of paper. “Just because you seem like a good woman, I will help you. Here is the address to where they are. Let’s just hope Enzo won’t be disappointed when he finds out they’ve been close all this time” he continued and walked out of my house.
I looked at the paper and there it was. The address, I just hoped this i***t wasn’t lying. I quickly gathered a couple of my men and headed across town to find them.
After two hours of driving, I arrived at the destination. I walked to the porch of a very nice, light brown Victorian house. A garden filled with colorful flowers at the front, and the smell of fresh paint. I took a deep breath ‘This is for Enzo’ I thought and rang the doorbell.
A man answered the door “Hi! Can I help you?”
“Yes, I’m looking for Melissa, is she here?” I asked.
“May I ask who is it?”
“An old friend from school. I haven’t seen her since we graduated and I found her address and wanted to surprise her” I lied.
‘This is for Enzo’ I kept repeating to myself. Every time I did, my heart hurt even more.
He called her and she quickly came to the door. “Hi! Who are you?” She asked almost giving away my identity. Luckily her husband had walked away.
“Hi, I am a friend of your husband’s” I said.
“My husband? I don’t recall him having friends” she said confused.
“I mean Enzo, your husband?” I repeated. She looked at me with wide eyes, but composed herself.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Enzo is dead” she said.
“He’s not. He’s been looking for you and your daughter for five years. I’m helping him actually and I got news that you were alive and lived here all the time”.
Sadness took over her face and she rushed me in. This was it. The moment where I might reunite Enzo with his wife, I just hoped I don’t regret it, for my heart’s sake.
Enzo
“I need you to run an errand for me” Luciano said handing me a picture. I instantly recognized the guy in it. He was my right hand before my wife and daughter disappeared and I decided to step down as a mafia boss and handed my men to him.
“Lorenzo” I muttered so Luciano didn’t hear me.
“He was spotted in town, especially near the Rivera mansion. In fact he was seen going in” he said.
“What? What was he doing in Ava’s house?” I asked upset and worried for her. I doubted she was working with him. So he might be looking for something. Luciano just shrugged and sat down on his desk to manage his business.
I walked out with the picture in my hand. I was going to make sure to find out what business he had in town and why would he be in Ava’s house. I had to protect her. He’s a dangerous man and even though Ava can defend herself, she still needed me and I was not going to let him hurt her.
I took my phone out of my pocket and called my second in command “I need you to drive around town and keep an eye on Lorenzo”.
“Yes sir, we will” he replied.
“Make sure you cover every single area. I don’t want to miss him. I need to find him” I hung up the phone and called Ava. No answer, what could she be doing?
Ava
My phone kept ringing but I ignored the call. Whoever it is I would call them back. I needed to focus on my conversation with Melissa.
“How come Enzo is alive? I was told he died on a shootout” she mentioned.
“Who told you that?” I asked sipping the cup of hot chocolate she made for me. I could see little Sofia watching her cartoons in the living room.
“Sofia and I were kidnapped for two years. The kidnapper has his face covered with a mask so we couldn’t see who it was, but I had the feeling it was someone we knew” she said looking down “How is Enzo? Is he okay? Is he happy?”
“He’s doing okay, but I doubt he’s happy. He lost five years of his daughter's life and his marriage” I said.
“Poor Enzo. I wonder what he must be feeling. After the kidnapper let us go, we had nowhere to go. We thought that Enzo was really dead. My husband found us walking on the streets and helped us. He’s a great man and after two more years of being with him we fell in love”.
I felt some happiness to hear that, but sad for Enzo. What would happen when he finds out his wife is really alive and had married someone else and fell in love with him?
All I know is that I needed to bring them back. I needed to help him get out of his misery. He deserves to see them again.
