Two days later, I’m not even feeling nervous as I get ready for the big trial. The meeting with supportive Elders went really well, in the end. We went over a lot of the objections I was likely to face at trial, which was very enlightening. They all seem to boil down to ‘it’s never been done before’ which, as Rosa said several times, is no reason not to start doing it now.
And yesterday Council Leader Tyler told me that several of the attendees who had been on the fence were planning to lend their support. A few even promised to sway their friends! So, while I have little excited butterflies of not knowing exactly what would happen or what to expect, I’m not worried.
