Magdra spent the entire ride over to the hidden entrance preparing us, but I still wasn’t prepared. When we walk in, I’m still overwhelmed. I’d never believe it was underground if I hadn’t walked down the stairs myself, the stairs cleverly disguised in a massive tree. The hall is massive, going five stories into the earth. And I say stories because the center of the room was open, and when I looked down I could see that the center of each story was open, with something like balconies hugging the walls in a roughly triangular shape. Little hallways branched off here and there, but I don’t see stairs. “Lovely, isn’t it?” says Magdra, coming alongside Rosa and I at the balcony. “How?” asked Rosa. “Oh, you know,” she says with a shrug. “We’ve been here a while.
