Lidia told me to ask my dad about what happened in the kitchen, but instead I avoid him until the afternoon, when Rosa comes by and picks me up. We have plans to go shopping, and then I will be “staying over at Rosa’s house” because one of the other wolves who had their first shift last night, Damian, is 20 and has his own place, so he is throwing a party. Basically every wolf in town under the age of 25 will be there. Even a few humans will probably go, the ones who have managed to befriend wolf students. They don’t know that the party was to celebrate a first shift, of course, but I don’t think high school students usually ask the reason for a Saturday night rager.
