This time, as I approach the Ceremony Clearing, it has been beautifully lit with candles, set into clever, tiny nooks carved in the trees, the rocks, and the shrine, set in such a way that the objects themselves seemed to glow. They’re everywhere, giving the clearing an ethereal and almost unreal look. I’ve never seen an Alpha Ceremony, and although I once snuck out to see an Induction Ceremony, a patrolling Warrior found me about halfway there. In retrospect, I think my father may have known I was planning to do it. So this will all be new to me. Unlike Mate Ceremonies, which can be conducted whenever a couple chooses, or Warrior Ceremonies, which usually take place at noon, both Alpha Ceremonies and Induction Ceremonies must happen under the full moon at midnight, just like Shift Ceremo
