Hera ran through the woods at an incredible speed and the feeling was so exhilarating that she never wanted to leave.
She wanted to run like this forever. Her paws dug into the earth as she moved at god-like speed and she could feel the chill wind whip against her face.
She could hear the birds chirping from miles away. The sounds of insects chirping and all other animals which were nothing but prey to her surrounded her but she paid them no mind as she kept running.
She could see much farther than she could ever imagine which was practically impossible while she was in human form. The smell of old, decaying trees invaded her senses from miles away but that didn't stop her from having her fun.
This felt like the happiest moment of her life and she never wanted it to end. Suddenly, the sweetest scent Hera had ever perceived in her life invaded her senses and she skidded to a halt abruptly.
What in the world was that heavenly scent? It smelled like lavender, cinnamon and spice and it was making her dizzy with pleasure. She sniffed the air and began following the scent, unable to resist it.
Hera ran through the woods, following the scent and she came to a halt as she stood face to face with a huge, black wolf. It stood tall in the middle of the trail and the fact that this strange wolf was the source of the hypnotized scent was not the only reason she felt drawn to it.
There was something about its bright red glowing eyes that just kept drawing her close to it. Those eyes should have terrified Hera but instead, she was mesmerized.
The wolf stood, carefully watching her like it was waiting for her. Like it was here for her and that made her run toward it even faster.
The moment she got to where it stood, the great black wolf let out a loud howl before nuzzling its face against Hera's and a ton of emotions rushed through her insides, the force nearly knocking the breath out of her.
She didn't understand what came over but at that moment, she never wanted anything in the world more than she wanted that wolf. She felt everything for it and the feeling was exhilarating. She could do anything for the wolf at that moment. She wanted to live for it and she was ready to die for it.
The feeling became so strong and overwhelming that hee heart thumped so loudly in her chest like it was going to leap out.
Her heart rate became so irrational that she instantly knew something was wrong but before she could do anything about it, she slowly began to drop down to the ground. She felt the wolf catch her before the world completely went dark.
Hera didn't know how long she was out for but after some time, her eyes slowly fluttered open. Everything was blurry and she stifled a yawn as she slowly brought her eyes into focus.
The sun filtered its way into the room through the windows and its harsh rays roughly invaded her eyes. She shielded her eyes from the sun and that was when the memories from the time before she passed out suddenly hit her.
She let out a gasp and covered her mouth with her hands in complete shock. She turned into a wolf! An actual wolf! And that wasn't even all. She actually broke out of the chamber and ran through the woods.
A smile made its way onto her face as she remembered the exhilaration she felt when she ran. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before. She suddenly shook her head, frowning.
Why should be excited about running for f**k's sake? She refused to believe that she was a wolf. Maybe she just imagined it. It was probably a weird, realistic dream. She was human and she would remain human.
Suddenly, she remembered the wolf with the red, glowing eyes and her heart fluttered. Did she imagine that too? Did she dream about it? Why did something from her imagination make her feel so damn good and giddy?
Hera let out a loud sigh. As much as she tried to tell herself that what she saw wasn't real, deep down, she knew it was. She forcefully turned into a wolf because of the full moon. She still remembered the excruciating pain of her bones shattering and rearranging one by one.
The fact that she had turned meant that she was now a werewolf. No longer a wolf in transition. And the wolf with red eyes she encountered in the woods was very much real. Who could it be?
She wanted to find out so badly. She looked around the room and noticed that she was now back in the royal chamber but she remembered passing out in the woods.
Somehow, the wolf knew who she was and brought her back here. Hera couldn't help but feel disappointed that she was back in the prison which she tried so hard to escape from. She was back to square one.
A lump formed in her chest and it was a hard pill to swallow but there was nothing she could do about it now. The only thing she could do now was to devise new ways to escape. She let out a yawn, stretching her limbs before slowly getting out of bed.
She noticed that she was dressed in her nightgown which meant that whoever brought her here must have dressed her up. She shrugged. She was lucky that she didn't even get killed at this point because she would have been so easy to kill in her unconscious state.
Hera made her way to the bathroom and brushed her teeth before taking a nice shower. She changed into a simple dress and brushed her hair. Even though she didn't feel much different at that moment, she knew that a large part of her had changed greatly. She was now a werewolf.
