As we patrolled the perimeter of the estate, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of exhilaration mixed with apprehension. Beside me, Alex moved with a fluid grace, her focus unwavering as she scanned the shadows for any sign of danger. Mason walked on my other side, his presence reassuring in the quiet of the night. "We’re doing great," Mason murmured, his voice barely audible over the rustling of leaves.
