The night was silent as Riley and I walked towards the sacred grove, guided by Elara. The air was thick with anticipation, the weight of our mission pressing down on us with every step. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silver glow over the ancient trees that surrounded us. Elara led us to a clearing where a stone altar stood, ancient runes carved into its surface glowing faintly in the moonlight.
"Here we are," Elara said, her voice hushed but filled with authority. "This place is sacred. It will amplify your connection and help awaken the powers within you."
I glanced at Riley, feeling a mix of fear and determination. "Are you ready?" I asked, trying to steady my voice.
Riley nodded, her green eyes reflecting the moonlight. "I’m ready, Alex. We can do this."
