Chapter 1 -The Lost Heirs

415 Words
The supernatural community is buzzing with shocking news: Alpha Tatum's newborn twins have been kidnapped. These infants, children of Alpha King Tatum and Luna Queen Beatrice Garvey, have blonde hair and blue eyes and weigh just over five pounds each. Thirteen years later, in Embry, Ireland, Riley Falls lives in a foster home. Abandoned as a newborn, she has grown up under state care. With her long blonde hair and bright green eyes, she finds comfort in books and prefers being alone. Nearby is a prestigious private school funded by the wealthy McKinnley family. Riley dreams of exploring its vast library, believing it has more books than her current school. Alex POV I start fresh at the private school, funded by my adoptive parents. This school is for supernaturals like me, with powers waiting to be discovered. Although I show potential, my abilities haven’t fully manifested yet, which frustrates me. My mom says most witches get their powers by sixteen, a milestone I eagerly await. Thanks to my parents' donations, I attend for free. As a popular student, I balance my social life with studies. I enjoy shopping and gardening, finding peace in growing herbs. Even with my interests, I'm determined to make my mark at school, always dressed in designer clothes. On a late Friday morning, I look forward to the day, full of possibilities and secrets. Riley POV At night, I sneak out to explore the private school's library, avoiding curfew. The library's vast collection of books on werewolves, Fae, witches, and mythical deities amazes me. Could these creatures really exist? I gather books on werewolves and witches, sneak back to my dorm, and start reading "Facts and History of Werewolf Kind." The book reveals new details about werewolves, sparking many questions in my mind. I learn about their physiology, strengths, and weaknesses, thinking about how to combat them. As dawn approaches, I hide the book under my bed and fall asleep, with only a few hours left before the day begins. Alex POV While the wolves enjoy the chase, the rest of us watch in our human forms. A familiar scent catches my attention, leading me to the school library. There, I see a girl with long blonde hair like mine, browsing the shelves. Hidden in the shadows, I watch her, curious and cautious. Does she look like me? Who is she, and why is she here at this hour? Determined, I decide to find out the truth about this mysterious girl.
